If you have Hellmann’s mayonnaise ketchup and these are optional onions and pickles you can mix it to taste for a Thousand Island type dressing.

Mom used to take miracle whip, milk and a tad of sugar...mix it all up and make as thick or thin as you wanted. Grandma made a killer salad dressing using ketchup, sugar, vinegar, oil and a little celery seed.

I use vinegar with a little oil, and some salt & pepper when I'm eating out. At home I never have a problem, since I keep Italian dressing around for marinating chicken, and ranch dressing for use as a veggie dip.

| for future reference -
i make a salad w/ just soy sauce, some fresh garlic, and (if i have it) fresh ginger. a dash of sesame oil adds a lot of flavor, and if you want to keep going, add some seasoned rice or apple cider vinegar. and maybe some hot chili oil or sauce. yummmmm!
