little light bulbs don't stay yellow!

I recently had to re-load a bunch of stuff on my computer and now whenever I go into a forum the light bulbs are there for posts made since I last visited. But then when I go to the next forum....the light bulbs have all turned off. Its ticking me off cause I have reset my preferences now a couple times. I also have to sign in before I can post anything the first time only. What can I be doing wrong????

I'm having the same problem with the lightbulbs not staying yellow when I go back to check the other forums. I don't know what it is...
