Exclamation Car in shop/I'm FIRED Monday if I don't make work!

The girl at the temp agency likes me, but her hands are tied, she's gonna smooth over with the company I'm assigned to that I can't make it in today, meanwhile my car won't even be looked at til 2pm today! but then I HAVE to come in Monday and have good attendance from now, its a contract/temp job, it pays good and I'm starting to like the town, I just got a place and the 2nd weeks rent is due tommorow (Sat), wish me luck dudes.
ps has anybody sold blood, or other ways to make quick cash, I could pawn my cds I think you get a $1 each, but if you don't pay back in a certain time frame they sell em, thanks!

So sorry blue...I'll send mega strong good vibes your way!!
Never have done the plasma or blood donation thing for money, I see commercials all of the time on TV. Pawn shops...hmmmm...only look to pick up games, but never took anything in for a little cash in hopes to "buy it back". Good luck babe!

I think it costs $30 or so to rent a car. Or call a cab. Or ask a coworker for a ride.

Best way to make quick money is to work for it. Go to the Frederick Town Mall and get a part time job. The market is booming in Frederick...esp. on the Golden Mile.

My husband used to do the plasma donation thing when we were in IL...I can't remember for sure, but it seems like he got somewhere between $10-20 each time but I think he could only do it once every 2 weeks or maybe only once a month?

I agree, I just applied to all the GNCs, Vitamin Shoppe on Miracle Mile, etc, I meant quick cash immediately over the weekend, since my entire paycheck today will most probably go to rent+car, I meant strategies to get cash til my first p/t check and next f/t check come in, since your not paid immed.
Actually the Fred vitamin shoppe guy took my app and said he'll refer me to Gaithersburg and Rockville needs people, so your right I am lining up a p/t, thanks for the input

Cool! Good luck! I live in Rockville, by the way. Let me know where you end up working around here and I'll come by and say hello!

Does your town have a bus system? Here in Vancouver you can call the bus company and they will help you plan your route if you are new to the system. Good luck!

3tbear is welcome here
How close do you live to work? Too far to walk? Do you have to get to work via a highway? I'm not familiar with that area you live in never having been out that way. Can you get to a library, check out freebies in the ad section of the newspaper or local free newspapers, the ones you get in the mail. Sometimes there are free bicycles or inexpensive used bikes. I found mine at a tag sale, just $35.00. Well, it's a start, until you get your car back. Or, put an ad on one of those file cards at the supermarket saying looking for carpool, will pay towards gas. Perhaps someone works near to where you do.

I'd suggest looking into public transportation as well. And, if you live close enough to work - walk!

I can't drive anymore because of my eyes, so I know it's a royal pain when you have to get somewhere fast & cabs are so incredibly expensive.
