Shocked I went to my 10yr reunion...

So...who's gone to their reunions?

My 10yr was this past weekend...well, being that I was an undiagnosed person with Bi-Polar in high school...let's just say I was a bit on the witchy side...so...not too many friends...

Anyway...I've grown up and have gotten a diagnosis...much better now

So...I go to this reunion...it was nice to see some people...found out we had/have a VERY smart class...we have a Dr, a Civil Engineer and MANY MANY people who are teaching, have Master Degrees in Biology and other tougher subjects, etc...

Some have kids...most still married (going on 10 years for some)...

The biggest shocks...the heaviest girl in high school came and knocked EVERYONE's socks off...she's lost 234lbs...she did it TWO years ago and has kept it off since...YEAH for her!!!

Another classmate lives in Woodbury, not too far from me...so I have a new friend up here now I'm happy with that...

Well...nothing else really to report from it...I went to see one person and wouldn't you know...he didn't show...

I did finally track him down though...I tutored him our senior year and that allowed him to graduate...he went on to go to a 2-yr tech school and graduate with a degree in Visual Communications...please keep in mind that if a person was put on this Earth to fail...it was him...I'm so proud of him!!! Crossing fingers and toes that we can meet in person soon...it's been a long time since we've seen each other...

Ok...enough about people y'all don't know...anyone else with interesting reunion stories?

jenimadison... Thanks for sharing. Great story.
I've never gone to one... always too far from the location.

Funny story:
Brother went a few years ago... to 30th - he's one of the top research physicist scientists in the country. He's quite modest about it, but I'm a proud sis. So... he goes to the reunion at high school... turns out all the honors he's ever accomplished in life were listed on the program to a person with the same last name (Spiegel) who owns a men's clothing store in Pittsburgh, PA. Brother's name is Murray and clothing guy is Charles. So my brother was listed in the information as owning a clothing store and Charles was the scientist.
Brother thought it was funny!

Our 10 year reunion was held in a barn.......needless to say Dh and I didn't go (dh and I graduated together)

what can I say....we grew up in the boonies, LOL.

My theory is....I didn't like them 10 years ago....why should I like them now?

For some reason we didnt' have have a 10 yr reunion. I have been in touch with some of my old classmates but that is about as far as it has went.

Funny thing happened.......one of my dear friends (a guy) e-mailed me and told me that his wife thought we were having a affair!! How funny!! He told me he told her she was crazy......we are nothing more than good friends catching up. I told hubby and he laughed!

I am VERY HAPPILY married and would NEVER do anything to jeopardize it!! Some people! I told my friend I sure hope he gets things straightened out.

I am very lucky that I have a hubby who trusts me. I guess not everyone is that lucky.

I've never been to a reunion......then again I attended a VERY SMALL high school
It must be neat to get reacquainted with your old classmates! I would have love to been a fly on the wall to see everybody's expression when that woman (that lost ALL of that weight) entered the room!
Glad you enjoyed yourself!

The expressions were priceless...I'm so proud of her...I really had been praying and crossing fingers/toes, hoping she would have lost the weight...I really wanted that for her.

overall...I'm glad I went...I got some new friends out of it

I'm not in touch with any of my classmates, but I've been to 2 HS reunions. The biggest changes I noticed were that alot of the males were going, or had gone bald on top. The females all still looked pretty good! The last time my husband went with me we sat at a table with a guy I never spoke to in high school, different classes and all. We had so much fun, he was such a goof, joking around. We laughed the whole time. His wife was very nice too but just the opposite of him, very quiet. They live a few towns away from us, we really should have kept in touch.
