Question

For me, I first started shopping "online" by way of entering sweepstakes, I was amazed at how much I could save online rather than shopping locally(we live in a small town where competition is non-existant so the prices are double what they should be)My first deal was a Dell computer about 3 years ago, I found a coupon for $500 off! Thats all it took!

Good question... I am very new to this -- I always thought that you'd pay more for the convenience of shopping online. I guess what hooked me was the Staples Canon scanner deal a couple months ago, combined with $20 off $20.01 at healthquick at about the same time. I was surprised to see that I could save money by shopping online. I bought nothing online for Christmas gifts last year; I bet I get about half online this year.

Cool

for me it was vitamins.com and MotherNature.com with their new customer deals. I couldn't believe I got so much stuff for so little. Still order from MotherNature at least once a month.

At christmas there was barely anything I paid cash for under the tree here or at my dads and everybody got something. And I'm already working on this christmas.

It was the $20 new cust. MotherNature deal that hooked me. I couldn't believe companies were doing these kinds of promotions. I did every new cust. deal online in under a week - then I wanted more, more, more!

Wow, are we deal addicts or what?

Mine was the old Toysrus.com deal from last summer. When it was $10 off for new customers and they had a free shipping offer. A nice Gent explained to me in a post on the mycoupons board how to skip the credit card screen and still place the order. I was hooked!!!!

I got in when it seemed that all the online stores were doing promotions. I had started just getting samples and the like. I was totally in awe. I never tried to do a deal more than once though. I always try to honest, yet get the best deal around. Now...I do all my pet food and supplies online as well as the majority of my personal items like shampoo etc. Saves me time and cuts my costs at least in half. I will almost always try to cut a deal online before I will go out and purchase the item!!And if I get it FREE, then thats even better. I consider it a part time job as I make money online too!

Shocked

I honestly have to admit that I NEVER made an online purchase until November of 1999 when I first visited Deal of Day.

Yep, its true. My very first purchase was because of Deal of Day.. and I can't stop now!

Anybody remember the free Asiacs shoes?

Thats what started me going. I had lurked on other boards and DOD, and done a little ordering from Amazon prior to that, but those shoes really got me started.

My first deal was a buy.com $10 off coupon. I found that and knew it was the closest thing to heaven on earth. And fortunately, for you people, I thought it would be a good idea to build a site where others could partake of the great deals! Actually, it's fortunate for us that you have graced us with your presence. Thank you for letting us serve you!

By the way, if you like the way things are shaping up, just wait until next week. :-)

ASHFORD!!!

I ordered a Pulsar watch for $33 originally priced at $285 (so they say). The merchant sent me two by mistake. I contacted them several times without a response. I mailed them a registered letter re mistake to protect my bootay. No response and no additional charges. Life is good.
