You start feeling your age when.....

Your 10 year old is getting braces and you're getting dental implants.

When it only takes two drinks to get you "feeling good", then gives you a headache.

When you come to the realization that the guy who just whistled was whistling at your daughter and not you.

When Bran Flakes replace Captain Crunch in your cereal bowl.

9:00 PM rolls around and you are snoozing on the couch.

When your kids friends call you Mrs.

You start enjoying National Geographic shows (which you hated as a youngster because that's ALL your dad used to watch)

You start eating more vegetables,,,,and liking them.

I thought of these things today after having gone on a day hike yesterday with my family. Living in Colorado we have a lot of mountain trails, and some 14,000 peaks. We hiked to two lakes, the highest being around 12,000 feet...my kids were way up ahead of me...while I was huffing and sucking for any oxygen I could get at that altitude. And boy oh boy,,,,I have a few screaming muscles today...and probably will for a few days.

Any other "You start feeling your age" whens?

When your son has bigger feet then DH.
When he asks if they had color tv when
you were young.
When the kids getting driving cars looks
like they should be in grade school.
When you start going for comfortable instead
of style.
These are just a few besides the mirror.

Chatter box

Most definitely, especially when I walked 35 blocks with my hubby in Boston the other day, and that following week I had swelling around the ankles and pain in my legs, yep, feeling much older. You think you can do the same things as when you were younger, but you just have to take it a little easier on the body. I found that out the hard way.

When your daughter asks you what a phonograph is! No joke - she's 20 years old but grew up with cassettes, then CD's, now DVD's. She cannot fathom the idea of a phonograph ( I didn't even TRY to explain 8 track tapes!)

When the fashion styles have come full circle and your kids are wearing the exact same styles you did at their age. My DD will see pictures of me and say 'what a cool shirt' or 'awesome pants' and then ask me if I still have them so she can borrow them!

I'm in Colorado City....inbetween Pueblo and Walsenburg. Small mountain community.

Corganiacs- how do I describe eight tracks..hmm...Kind of like a rectangular plastic box....about about 7" long, 4" wide, 1" tall or thick. one end has the area where the tape is, they fit into an eight track player kind of like a VHS, except that part of the end stuck out of it.

I was trying to find a picture of them, but the closest I could come up with is this - [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

8 track tapes would be considered quite cumbersome by today's CD standards - they were about the size of today's VHS tapes! Cassettes came along and pretty much made 8 tracks obsolete...

I feel old everytime I'm next to my 11 year old son and I have to look up to look into his eyes!!! Or the last time we went to buy shoes and found out his shoes are too big for me to wear!

I'm glad his friends don't call me "Mrs." though...they call me by my first name!! A couple of them have crushes on me...it's sooo cute! Makes DS soo mad though when they want to hang out in the living room where I am!!
