Shocked TOOTHACHE REMEDIES

Besides the obvious, going to the dentist, what are some things you do to ease a toothache???

Me? Well, I put Clove Leaf Oil on it...it's found in the stores along with the other toothache remedies. Tastes REALLY nasty, though, but it works for me.

If you have a hole in your tooth cover it with nail polish. It keeps the air from getting in and causing it to hurt.

Ibuprophin is a miracle drug for toothaches. I had a rather unpleasant dental adventure around Christmas with a tooth that abscessed and inflated half my face like a balloon. Twice. Ugh.
Both my dentist and periodontist recommended Motrin. The prescription strength is 800 mg, but I never had to take that much to completely relieve the pain and wouldn't recommend that anyone take that much without consulting a dentist or doctor first.

The ibuprophin hasn't worked for me...but then I only take one pill at a time, medicines affect me differently than most people. Maybe I will try two next time...thank you.

If you lost a filling or cracked a tooth...there is this stuff you can get at the drugstore called Temperin . another name is Tempanol. It's the same stuff the dentists use for temporary fillings. Just stick a glob of it in the tooth and it will harden and the tooth will quit hurting AND you can eat again. Will last til you can schedule and get into the dentist. week or two.

If you have Bayer aspirin around the house.
Take one and put it on the bad tooth. Let it just disolve on it. It will deaden the pain temporarily.
