Unhappy I feel terrible....

I feel terrible.....

I have this AWFUL migraine that won't leave. It started last night about 6 pm and I thought I had it under control but I guess not. I woke up with it still. Now my vision is getting blurred and I don't feel so good. It is taking all I have to just sit here and look at the screen. I would go and lay down except I am at work and can't. That is why I am just surfing DOD. I have to do something to keep busy or I believe my head will explode. I have some imitrex in my purse but if I take that I will have to go home and close the store. It knocks me out.

Sure hope this headache leaves soon.

Oh, honey I am so sorry. I too suffer from migranes. You will be in my thoughts today and I said a prayer for you. Sleep usually helps and it is just the worst to wake up with it again. Hang in there.

I feel for you.......I used to get them all the time. I finally took a biofeedback course and learned how to manage them without drugs, best 9 weeks I ever spent doing anything. I still get them, but can control them in around a half and hour now. I only get the bad ones that I can't do anything about around 2 times a year.

I hope you feel better soon!

Ya know, I accidently discovered that Imitrex works better with an Ibuprofen "chaser." I asked my MD about that, and she didn't sound surprised..gave me a fairly logical explanation about why that would work. You may want to ask your doctor about taking some ibuprofen about 15 minutes after the Imitrex. Good luck, feel better

Thanks everyone. Hubby was a dear and went to the pharmacy and got me some advil. He thought that might help some. He knows how sick I get with migraines. I took 2 of them and 'hopefully' that will take the edge off until I can get home after work.

Imitrex is a prescription that you get from your doctor. There is the oral pill, injection, or nasal spray. I have the pills and nasal spray. I take the pills when I am not vomiting with the migraine but if I start vomiting I just do the nasal spray.

My doctor also has prescribed fioricet that he told me to take before I it gets intense.....that med has a combination of acetaminophen, ibuprofen and caffeine. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. However I am so sensitive to meds and anything that I take just about makes me groggy so I have to be real careful. I didn't take one of those this morning because I knew I had to drive and work.

I think I am going to make it though. Hubby keeps checking on me and I did take some advil so maybe that will help.

I get terrible migraines, but while I was pregnant I couldn't take anything powerful enough to get rid of them, even ibuprofen. My OB prescribed fiorcet (sp?) and that worked OK sometimes.

When I told her the most effective thing for me was a good espresso drink, she said, "Go for it!" She said caffeine, as much as they recommend avoiding it during pregnancy, is much less likely to be harmful to the baby than a synthetic drug.

So all of my pregnant friends at the time were SO jealous of me because I actually had PERMISSION to drink Coke and coffee occasionally! I didn't go nuts with it, maybe like 1-2 cans or cups per day.

Caffeine is still my preferred treatment, but only in the migraine's early stages. After a point I can't eat or drink anything, which actually makes the headache even worse. My feeling is that if you suffer from migraines, it just plain sucks to be you right then, no matter what. :-)

ANYWAY... I hope YOU feel better by now! Take care of yourself!

Hope your migraine is better soon. My sister gets those too.
I read somewhere if you smell an apple, it helps with the migraine, also drinking coffee, which was on the list of things you were not supposed to have originally. I've never had a migraine so I don't know how good any of these remedies are, or even if they are a remedy.

Unhappy Still have it.

Well I woke up and STILL have this headache! But I am off today from the store so I took some med and hope to be feeling better soon. As long as I can get the kids to keep quiet I think I will be ok. My daughter is sleeping still.....and it is almost 10 am!! My son is up and about.....has been since 8 am! Things are pretty slow right now. I have some laundry in the wash and plan on resting a little later. At least now that I am home I know if I need to nap I can and if I don't get everything done around here it is no big deal....hubby understands. He has already called to check on me. Told him I took some med and am waiting for it to kick in. I am even drinking a cappucino to see if that will help.....the caffeine in it! I am willing to try anything at this point!
