Help about a up coming focus group!

I have two up coming focus group to do in a few days and would to know if anyone has done them before. I would like to know whats involed in a focus group before i do it so i know what i'm doing. Is it like a chat group that just talks? Is it a Q&A type thing? Can someone that has done a focus group before please tell me whats involed in a focus group?

I've done quite a few of them & they're really fun! Most have been an online chat forum with no right or wrong answers, just your opinions. The last one I did was about online shopping & coupons.. LOL! The moderator asked a whole bunch of questions about how we liked shopping online, our favorite sites and what kind of coupons it took to bring us to any given site and actually shop there.

It was pretty funny actually - and I was able to refer the entire group to come check out our own DoD too

One suggestion though - be sure to keep all of your emails from the company you're doing this for until you get your check in. Sometimes they "forget" to send you the follow up email for your name & address & it helps to have the letters to nudge them along in the right direction. It's only happened to me once - but it was for a $45 group, and I was really happy I had the back up to get them to pay me!

Thank you for the info Kat, i just want to know what i was getting into befor i started chating. I'm getting $50. for one and $35. for the second one. Plus, get this today i done a survey and made $30. bucks and took 10 mins. It looks like a great pay off month.
Any ways i just wanted to make sure i do these focus group right so i can get pick for more.
