Do you know if they use a big needle? I used to give blood every 2 months until they started using a huge needle and it became extremely painful (especially when the person had to poke me 2-3 times before finding the blood vessel ... really, my arm is not that big!) to give blood and I had to stop.

When I was tested and put on the registry it was just a regular needle like the one they use to do normal blood work. I am not sure of the size needle they use to donate blood since I can't do that but even if you dont give blood just get put on the Bone Marrow Registry....you may just save a life one day...and I know this first hand, my godson was the lucky recipient of one and I will be forever grateful to the man who gave him life.
