| What a fun post! With my first one I tried to tell my dh. We were in the car and he was talking and talking, and I couldn't get a word in edgewise much less the perfect time to announce this. Plus we were on our way to my friends house, and I wanted to tell him before we got there. Being 18 I was in too much of a hurry to be really creative, so I blurted out "Hey I have a joke for you." He always being in the mood for a joke said "really? What is it?" "I'm pregnant." with a big smile he laughed himself silly- good one! I laughed to, then looked at him........ and looked at him........ Finally he asks "are you for real" yup he blinks and is like "wow! how amazing" and we talk about it the rest of the way to my friends. I was amazed at how calm and rational he was. So when we get to my friends she asks me "did you tell him yet?" I said yes, turned around and see my dh go pure white, stagger back and sit on the floor with a thump. Up until then he thought we were playing around, "joking". Just to finish my memory, we went to the dr.s to take a confirmation test, and when the nurse came out to say it was positive my dh picked my up and swung me around, laughing. It was so cool. ![]()

| Wow you mean we have to tell them? I just kept telling him I was babysitting!LOL!<j/k> With #1 he told me I was preggo. #2 we both knew I was preggo when I got sick to my stomach from cigarette smoke at a KISS concert. (never bothered me before) And with this one I believe he heard me screming and sobbing in the bathroom and came to see what was wrong!LMBO! Vicki

| My dh and I were on a trip to Disneyland with my sister, her husband and her 4 kids. Well, I got sick two nights in a row. I would feel fine all day and then at night....eeeew! I finally said to my sister, "do you think I'm pregnant?" Well, we sent the men out right away to buy a pregnancy test. My brother-in-law took my nervous dh to buy one, since he has 4 children, he knew exactly where to go...lol! It came out negative, but a couple of weeks later, I took another one and it was positive. Unfortunately, the pregnancy did not take and I miscarried soon afterwards. I don't mean to bum anyone out with this story, because even though it had a sad ending, I still enjoy remembering the excitement involved with our first pregnancy. I wanted to try again as soon as possible and I had great success. We were in the process of moving into our first house and in the middle of all the hussle and bussle of moving, I took a test and it was positive. After checking the test, I just smiled at my husband and we gave each other a big hug and kiss. Then, we went right back to working on the house...lol! My dd is now 2 1/2 and I am having serious baby fever again. I keep watching The Learning Channel, which I swear shows a birth every day! I am definitely going to try to have another baby very soon.... This time around, I will tell my dh in a more special way.Lori |

| What a funny and wonderful thread, and I now know that I am a boring person! Well not really but in our home Techman was an involved party (hehe). Both our kids were planned so it wasn't one of those situations where I could surprise him!! LOL What I did do tho was once I had my first ultrasound and we wanted to know the sex of the baby, I was told we were having a boy. So I had brought the ultrasound picture home and showed it to Techman and I said, 'Here is the head, here is the leg - here is the penis' and watched his face as he realized that we were gonna have a son!!! It was pretty cool for us... With our second, same situation, but I had needed an amnio and again we were told that we were having a girl - so we were so very happy both times, but never got to live out a fantasy of how to tell him!!! So, Dev - whenever you have this little project - once you spill the beans to your dear hubby, be sure to let us know right away! Best of luck to you!!! (((hugs)))

| I came home to a STEAK dinner and all the fixins. I knew something was up (no TV dinner.) Right after the first bite, she blurted it out. No I didn't spit the mouthful across the room, but I was stunned. I was happy, but I just didn't know what to say except, "Are you sure?" (a note to the guys---don't do this---practice saying, "That is the most wonderful thing you could have told me. I love you so much!") ![]()

![]() With my 4th child I went up to dh and asked him what color van he wanted. lol My dh has always been super excited when he found out I was pregnant. But the excitement did not always last. For some reason with the girls he was just fine, relaxed, but with the boys he was a freakazoid, really worrying about finiances and other things. I know this is normal for alot of guys. But once the babe comes they perk up ![]()

| I never had to tell him, he was always clued in by my week long crying fits. First trimesters were always a little uh...emotional for me..lol. Actually, I have no ability to keep secrets. The second I suspected, I just blurted it out. I was always the nervous one, he was always more excited then I was. As I remember things, I always felt better about the pregnancies after I told him, he was always so wonderful, even with the "surprises!" |

| Well........... dd#1 we both suspected, but didn't know. I secretly went to the doctor and then went to a friend's house at lunch the next day to call the doctor's office for the results. It was positive! But of course, I was too excited and called him to let him know. dd#2 he suspected before I did (imagine that). We were going to be going to Las Vegas for the weekend for his bowling league sweeps (dd#1 was going to stay with gramma). We like to have a drink or two while we're playing BlackJack, but he kept telling me before the trip that he did not want me having any drinks because he just knew I was pregnant. I didn't have any drinks and took a test when we got home.....sure enough he was right. Now, we just found out a week ago that there will be a #3. We figured there would be one, but at least another year away. Well, dh was working on the new house when I took the test and it was positive! Dh and I had just been talking about how 2 was just a nice number and how maybe we should just stop there, and of course when we're done, it will be him who goes to the doc. Anyway I couldn't wait (of course) so I packed up the kids and went to the new house. He asked how my day was and I just commented that I think next year for my birthday I want him to make an appointment. He looked at the kids and said, "that bad of a day, huh?" All I said was "I think what we have is enough." He asked if the girls had been giving me a hard time, so again I said (while patting my tummy) "I think what we have is enough." Well, I know he got it that time because his mouth dropped and his eyes got real big.
