Increasing Post Counts

Just wondering why people seem to be on a rampage to increase their post count so much. Post what you want, when you want...I really don't care!

There are certain people who seem to reply to every single thread that they read. Now, I try to only post when I have something interesting to add (some may disagree with that!) but it just struck me as odd that it seems that so many people are doing nothing but trying to increase their post count for some unknown reason.

To each his own, I guess.

Personally, I try as often as possible to say hello to new people in that forum.. Sometimes people do read them and reply... and those few people are who make it worthwhile to me.. because then they feel welcomed.

It isn't that much of a big deal, really.... I know I appreciated it when I began and was welcomed.

That's why I do it.

Cant speak for everyone but for me I have been "welcoming" the new members in introduce yourself forum for as long as i can remember ~ and it has NOTHING to do with me wanting to add to my post count ~ more of being friendly and hoping to make the new members feel more welcomed

EXACTLY!! Lisa, we welcomed all new members LONG before a lot of the newbies came and we will continue!! Remember when mouse had her site with all the little animations we could use? That was fun! Oh. the good ole days!! LOL

I have to agree with Lisa.


I don't welcome the new members to raise my post count. I like to read about the new people and in some cases try to encourage them to stick around and participate or steer them in a certain direction.

When I first started coming here, I didn't know what the forums were so I didn't even check them out for a long time. I missed out on so much fun.

I just try to help out. I do hear from the new members quite a bit. I receive e-mails asking questions and thanking me for the warm welcome. I guess it makes me feel useful.

I don't know why it would bother anyone. I am sorry if you are offended.

Ummm...I do it to increase my post count ..LMBO! What can I say..I have a full tummy, had a nice relaxing bath..hee hee..sort of and now I'm bratty..hee hee!

Ohhh I still have my animations site Momma..you just can't link to the graphics like we once could...boo hoo..LOL!

I don't think Shaina means only the Introduce forum. I think she used that as an example. I agree I did that for a while...post thanks in all the freebie posts and contest forum too but then I quit.....when I don't take advantage of all the offers, why should I just post to increase my post count?

This has especially increased after the Mayor has posted the top 25 posters in DOD.

I go over to New Member Introduction and kinda fill in when I see that no one has welcomed them. Other than that, I know that I don't have very much important stuff to say........But do like to have fun joking around with all the ppl here! So, If that's padding my tiny little post count...I'm Sorry!!

me too i receive tons of pm's and emails ~ either thanking me for welcoming them .. or asking for help or both what a neat feeling to get that ~ even the simple pm's with a sweet thank you for being so kind !!!!

All i have to say is .... TO THOSE OF YOU WHO DONT "WELCOME THE NEW MEMBERS" SURE ARE MISSING OUT ON ALOT lets remember what the WHOLE purpose of that forum is ~ for the new members to introduce themselves what an awful feeling it would be if they didnt get any replies on that

I have done this for a long time and will continue to do so ~ i had even taking a new thread on the "ask the moderator" forum and said that i felt that not enough members were participating in the "introduce yourself forum" and i thought we need more member participation ~ of course that was months ago .. now we seem to have a full staff in welcoming new members and i for one think its AWESOME !!!!

I post very little myself, between work and all the stuff i do around the house, i have very little time on-line, my posting count is still very low, lol.
I try to always post if i clicked and filled out info on an offer but not always.

I think each member takes it upon themselves to post how and when they want ~ i do agree that i wouldnt go into every thread and post a thanks when I DIDNT DO THE DEAL OR FREEBIE ~ but to each there own ! I wouldnt expect another member to tell me how and when i should post as i would never do that to them

I agree with you and honestly, I felt kinda stupid just to post in every freebie post and contest post and rewards post even though I did not really take advantage of it, just to increase my post count. But if others wanna do it, that's up to them. I don't wanna do that now.

OH YEAH, I agree..I NEVER post in a thread unless I have done the contest or freebie. Most of the time I can't just say thanks because you know me..I ALWAYS have something more to say Hee hee! Like the contest..if G hasn't posted a picture of the prize or something..I post it or of course say why I'd like to win that particular prize! Toldja I always have something to say. NOW, the welcome forum..I say the same thing in almost everyone..why? Because I want to say the same thing to everyone..lol..ESPECIALLY when someone introduces themselves with "I'm a bad boy"..LMAO!! I see what you're saying tho Shaina (go STEELERS..hee hee)
