Do your kids fake being sick?

My daughter is faking being sick today cuz she doesn't want to go to her Mom's house tonight. Makes me so mad sometimes Cuz I have to leave school to go see if she's ok, and then come to find out she's fine and that's what's really bothering her. And then I'm glad that I never had to experience what she does.

Kids, ya gotta love em!!!!!

All kids fake being sick at one time or another

My daughter tries it at least once a week. Usually when she stays up too late.

My kids have never faked being sick. They are both very healthy and have each only missed 1/2 day of school due to sickness in their entire lives. One is in ninth grade, and the other in seventh grade. They enjoy getting the special awards for perfect attendance handed out at the end of each year.

My four year old will try playing sick at least once a month because he didn't get off to sleep on time & doesn't feel like getting up (he usually shakes it off once he's eaten breakfast).

The older ones don't even try. They know playing sick will have them confined to their beds with no tv, no games - and being bored at home is always worse then being at school.

Oh PLEEEEEAAASE!! I swear they teach ACTING 101 in school. called How to fake it!!

What i do now is tell them, well why don't you try to go to school and if you are that ill, go to the nurse and i will pick come and get you. 90 percent of the time the phone never rings.

I often feel terribly guilty about this, because i know how stressfull school and home life at times can be for children.
Like Freesurfer, my heart breaks for your child, to be forced to go somewhere you really don't enjoy and go to the lengths of faking an illness. My son is notorious for getting ill when that book report he didn't do is due!! UGH!

I will on the other hand, when my kids had worked really hard on projects or after school activities, i would let them have a mental health day. LOL

I still fake sick whenever I can... As long as the bills are paid and I gotta little somethin somethin in the pocket to have fun, I'll have the Flu year round!!!! I'd much rather be fishin or huntin or cruizin the beaches or hiking in the forests or planting trees or chasing tail than trapped in a cubicle where I work... (Nextel)... But then again I'm a 12 year old trapped in a 26 YO body... Im gonna have as much fun as possible while I'm here... Period
