I just got this email today and thought it was pretty weird. The subject line said "Hi Friend. It's Elizabeth." Well, I have no friends named Elizabeth, at least none that go by Elizabeth anyway. I have also never heard of this site she's talking about, so how could I have possibly registered at it? Anyhow, I thought it was really weird... written with the same "tone" as the emails with the Sir Cam worm. Just worried, it may be a virus or a scam to get me to visit some porno site or something. I have no intentions on clicking on the link regardless of what it is, but just concerned about it's intentions. Here's the email: I send to you the site's address that you registed before. You can Participate in event that You can win a Porche or $25,000 in this site. Click below address [Only registered and activated users can see links. | IMPORTANT NEWS
It's a virus. This letter is running the net in various forms and varieties. DO NOT OPEN. Run your protection and have it quarantine and remove it. It's a common virus out now, and isn't too damaging but sends email to everyone on your email list. DO this: Put <![Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]> at the top of your address list in all screen names. It will be the FIRST name in your list and prevent email from going to others containing any virus. Best to copy and paste the <![Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]> You need the <> and the ! in it for it to work and it does work. Hope this helps.
