Support for Crohn's Disease??

My 10 year old grandson has it. Has been sick since last year but wasnt diagnosed til a few months ago. He has been in the hospital numerous times getting scoped and tested and treated. The last time was Halloween. Poor kid. In the hospital for Halloween. Hes being admitted again today and will probably be there for Thanksgiving. Is anyone else dealing with this horrible disease? It would be nice to hear from someone with some victories over this monster.

Sorry to hear that. Have a friend with Chron's and understand that it is in no way pleasant.

My brother has it. He was diagnosed with it about 15 years ago. Since he lives in Florida now, we don't see each other very often. He won't talk about it. I do know he has to follow a cetain diet and stay on his meds. He has lost a lot of weight. My sil said he has good days and bad days. But he is 52 years old, will be 53 in April.

My mom has it. She has had it for 27- 30 years. She has gone in and out of remission.

There is hope. My moms case is pretty severe, but she lives a normal life. Its not her identity.

I am sorry about your grandson. That is so sad. My mom was a little bit older than he was when she was diagnosed. She is thin, but I think she is beautiful. I am so proud of her.

This will be a testimony of your grandsons. I will be praying for him. God can bring good out of all things. I don't know how, but He does. My mom is a fighter, she had confidence in herself because she has overcome so many challenges.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's at 13 years old. At first, I was afraid that the doctors didn't ahve a way to treatit. I had a bowel ressection at age 16. After the surgery it sat dormant, with a few minor flareups, for 15 years. I had a second ressection at age 32. I am for the most part, a healthy 38 year old man. my lifestyle is not hindered by the disease, because I won't allow it too stop me from achieving all I can. There is a support group called CCFA Crohn's Collitis Foundation of America [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now] They have local chapters in major cities. Get involved; the disease doesn't have to beat you guy. I've whipped its butt!!!!! Good luck and good health

Dave

Wow! I didn't realize so many here had cd or know people who do. I have it, too. Would love to chat with others about cd, if anyone's interested.

When I was recruiting for the Army National Guard, I had a recruit turn up with chron's... Destroyed the kid... All he ever wanted to do was serve his country... He called a few times afterword, seeing if they changed thier policies or anything....
