Smile Christmas Decorating

Today was a beautiful day here so when I got home from work I went out and put up some of my Christmas Decorations. I put up the 4 trees of lights I have and the candy canes up the walks and the big canes along the front paths. I still have to get the icicle lights up and all the shrub lights but I got the major part of it done by getting all those trees up!

A lot of people put up their Christmas decorations this past weekend around my house. Too early for me - I do mine the Friday after Thanksgiving (which is still too early for hubby, he thinks they shouldn't go up until after Dec 1st).

I just got back from walking the dog & some people actually have the lights ON already. I know I wouldn't want their electric bills - these people have all four sides & the roofs of their houses done up in lights!

What's the rush??? Looks like everyone is passing over Thanksgiving and heading staright for Christmas! I find it VERY depressing how Christmas is being pushed on society earlier and eariler each year. In some of the local stores here I saw Christmas trees right next to Halloween decorations! To me...Christmas decorationing should start in the beginning of Decemeber....I mean gee....it's ONLY Novemember 20th!

I would have waited until the Friday after thanksgiving but it is going to be COLD COLD COLD here by then...Yesterday was the last day that it was going to be in the 60's around here until the spring! I won't turn them until probably Nov 30th...

cata5 is welcome here
We had very cold weather for awhile in early October so when it got warmer everyone was out putting up their lights... Saturday was the warmest, but we went to Harry Potter. Sunday we bought new lights, and by the time we got home it was raining. Yesterday it got pretty cold. Today it is freezing. Almost everyone on our street has lights up and on! Only a very few procrastinators are left...HOPEFULLY, we'll have another halfway decent day to get them up. If I lived in a warmer climate, they wouldn't go up for sure until after Thanksgiving.

LOL Sushi! We have a rule around here - all decorations have to be down & put away by New Years Eve. If I put them up on the 26th, I'd be taking them down again in 3 or 4 days.
