| Imitrex, Fiorinal, lots of quiet, keep cool, try to control nausea, and let it ride out it's course. I started at age 4. They've gotten less and less severe and common as I got older. They are a killer.

| Mine are mostly sinus related. I get the whole 9 yards of symptons, from light flashes (also during the migraine) to nausea and a body ache all over. The bultalbital (fiorinal) is what druggies call a speedball. Has caffeine, phenobarb, and either aspirin or acetomenaphin (generic tylenol). One is called Fiorinal and the other is Fiorital. The Tal is with tylenol. I take 2 to begin and wait. Usually I have to go to the Imitrex but sometimes I get lucky. That stuff is $10/pill and worth it, but so costly. I took Imitrex shots before they came out w/pill. Once I was carried to the hospital I was so sick. Thank the Good Lord I don't get them as often and nearly as severe. I was told I'd outgrow them, and that has become true. In fact, I had a mini one yesterday, but took my meds and worked outside anyway. Used to be... I was down for the count for days at a time. Last night it was gone. I don't envy anyone who gets them. The only person I'd wish them on is Osama. Perhaps he'd kill himself if he got them - just to get out of his misery!

| I have a couple of those eye packs that you can either microwave or chill. Bill will heat one, put it on me while he heats another, and keep trading back and forth until I fall asleep or it passes. This is while I lay in a dark room and I usually take some naproxen as well. The heat helps so much, even if it is a hot washcloth.

I've had the worst migraines for years....tried everything!! Fioranol, Stadol, Imitrix, anti-depressants, beta-blockers.......you name it, they had me on it. The Best thing that I ever did was insist to my DR. that he find me a nurse that could teach me Biofeedback. It took 9 weeks, two times a week and insurance paid for most of it. BUT IT WORKED!!!! Now when I start to get a migraine, I use the techniques they taught me 6 years ago and haven't popped a pill or sprayed any drugs up my nose or had any shots since then! As you get better at it, it takes less time for the migraine to go away. Usually about 10-20 minutes. All it is, are a bunch of techniques you use to trick your body and brain into responding to your thoughts and even though it sounds strange, it really does work. Not only for migraines, but you can lower your blood pressure when you get mad and learn to ignore the more minor aches and pains in life. ![]() |

| 2 Percogesic or 4 Ibuprofen (I'm not supposed to take Nsaids, though) Cold washcloth, Migraine ice pads, dark room, no noise. Thankfully, mine aren't as severe as most. Mostly PMS related. I used to have seizures, outgrew those and started having migraines. My Mom's always had migraines.

| I've also been getting migraines since I was 4 or 5 years old. Back then they didn't know much about them, so I went through a battery of tests to see what was wrong with me. Then they put me on these pills that did nothing but make me vomit. It was always the same routine, get the migraine, thrash around and cry, vomit, fall asleep, wake up feeling like I had been sleeping 20 years. Fun huh? LOL Later in life they put me on Midrin. It would take away the migraine, but I still had to sleep, and then I was no good the rest of the day. Believe it or not, what works magically for me is Excedrin Migraine! I call it my little miracle pill. If I take it right away, all migraine symptoms are gone in 30 minutes and I can go on with life. Cheap, fast, easy, and it WORKS! (For ME, that is, doesn't work for everyone). It just hard to believe after 20 years of suffering, something as simple as an over-the-counter pill was my cure. ![]()

| I used to suffer really bad from migraines. The only thing that helped me was a trip to the ER and an IV with morphine. Neurologist told me that I would have to live with them since no meds would help me. Was on them all. I finally went to a chiropractor and the first time she adjusted my neck I was migraine free. ![]()
