I am an only child and my husband is the oldest of five. I was reading how your birth order affects your relationship with your spouse. Supposedly, that means Bill and I would have "control issues" being first born and only, but I think we do fine as long as he does what I say!

Funny, my Mom had three girls and I have three boys.

Dh is the oldest at 31. He has 2 half-brothers that are like 24 and 27.

I'm the youngest of 3. My brother is 7 years older than me (he passed away unexpectedly and mysteriously 3-1/2 years ago) and my sister is 6 years older than me. My mom had a miscarriage in between me and my sister and my dad would always tease me that if she hadn't miscarried and they stopped at 3 kids, I could be some little Korean boy somewhere......my dad was always the jokester growing up! We were boy, girl, girl.

As for dh, he is 3rd in line of 4 kids.......boy, girl, boy, girl. Funny thing is between the dh and his brother they have had 5 girls and 0 boys. If I get pregnant again, betcha it'll be a girl!

I am a middle child...two older brothers and two younger brothers. My dad used to call me the rose between the thorns...isn't that sweet!

I'm an only child, simply because my mom couldn't have any more. My DH is one of 10 (as was my dad), the oldest son of five boys and five girls, and third-born.

We are about as opposite as they come, in every way, except that we were raised with the same morals and values and have the same goals in life.

Am I spoiled? Yep. But not in ways that you would think. I did NOT get everything I wanted, though I had more than I needed. Being the only child, it was always my responsibility for the cleaning and laundry. My mom worked full-time, and my dad had very long hours, so they really needed my help a lot.

My DH, on the other hand, being one of ten, had very few chores. There were so many children to divide it up amongst, that he didn't have to do much. He also says the girls had a lot more to do in his house than the boys did. The only thing that they were responsible for was mowing the yard. He said he pretty much had to do it every 3 weeks. He never even had to make his bed. That was the girls' job!!

Funny thing, though, he takes such good care of me and our house, and he even cleans the litter box for MY cat. He does dishes, vacuums floors, makes beds, does laundry, washes windows and numerous other things. I do those things, too, but he will go ahead and do them if they need to be done. The only thing he won't do is cook. I sure understand that! I hate to cook, too!!

I am the oldest, then a brother 53, then a sister 48, and I had a brother that would be 44, but he died when he was only 24.

I also have 1 half brother and 9 half sisters by my biological dad, I have only met them a few times. My step Father raised me since I was 3 yrs. old. And my biological dad never had a relationship with me.

I'm the oldest of 3 girls. I just turned 40, middle sis will be 39 in January, and youngest just turned 36. We are the very best of friends. I'm the only one whose married and has a child.

I always wanted a sibling and I don't understand how my kids can say they hate each other.......mostly DD says that about DS. I don't get it.
