Okay, this may be silly...But we're getting a new Target!!!

We are getting a 'local' Target store!!! YAY!!!
In Boardman {Ohio} the old Tops grocery store building by Office Max, the Old Country Buffet, Old Navy, Kohl's, Barnes and Noble, and Funcoland {Just in case anyone reading is wondering where }... On the building they're remodeling there is a giant Target {the Target store's red and white target} and it says "Coming 2002"!!! I can't wait... Right now for us to go to a Target, we've got an hour's drive...But this one is like 25 minutes drive!!! Did I mention "YAY!!! ???"

I found this out yesterday, and I've just been wondering if anyone's been to a "Target Grand Opening" could you share about what kinds of "Special Events/Sales" type things they do?

Wow! I'll be able to do all my shopping within a thirty mile radius of our house!!! Instead of fifty miles!!! LOL But I'll probably still go to the Targets in Niles and Stow/Kent every once in awhile... Never have managed to get to the Target in Canton... Yet...

And Flash thought that I shopped too much already??? He ain't seen nuthin' yet!!! LOL

Now if only they would build that Wal-Mart Supercenter in Salem, the one that's been supposed to be built for like the last 2 1/2 years!!! They've bought the land, they just haven't gotten everything straightened out so that they can get it started, yet!

Hmmm...Too bad the Target wasn't going to be in Salem, then I could do all my shopping five minutes from home!!! Oh that would be soooo nice!!!

Well congrats on your happy news!! It is so strange to me being born and raised in such a metropolitan area as Orange County (CA). Every store I could want is within a 15 minute drive. Usually more like 5 minutes. There are 3 Targets within 10 miles! I'm not bragging, I just wanted to share that it is so strange to hear of people being happy about a 25 minute drive as opposed to 1 hour!

I've never been to a Target grand opening but maybe your local radio stations will be there promoting it and giving stuff away??! That's how grand openings of other stores have been around here.

Silly, beffie? A new Target is definitely a reason to rejoice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We just got a SuperTarget here this spring. It's awesome.

usually, Target gives away gift bags (manuf. coupons and product samples) to the first 1000 or so on their grand opening day.
when a Target opened up in NW San Antonio about 7 years ago, they had the best fireworks display (yikes, i would even say it was better than Disney's!)!
i love Target so keep your eyes/ears out for their grand opening events! enjoy!

hey beffie....my DH is from that area....actually most of his family is in canton and some in stowe... some are in kent.... quite a few are in canton... pretty small world huh???????

We're in Salem. But Flash works in Ravenna, about 10 minutes from Stow {Which is one of the Targets I go to! About 1 hour drive from our house! }. Actually that's how I found that Target, drove him to work one day, and DS and I decided to go "exploring" around Kent/Stow/Ravenna... Spent the day around there and went to pick Flash up from work, then went home very tired...made Flash drive...
