FREEBIE TYOU WONT GET SAW ON ANOTHER BOARD THIS IS GOOD

Hi to all...

JMO...here are some freebies that are a total waste of time..
you won't get em..so why bother???

>>any so called freebie from a terrashare or kcweb site..total scams, collecting email addys for spam, porn and reduce your debt junk

>> freebies from allure etc...NOT worth your time JMO...perhaps one person has gotten something from their stupid call in deals..think of the hours people spent on the phone??
NOT worth it...I am a grown woman, my time is more valuable than that, I refuse to sit on the phone again for a crummy sample

>>> Revlon...yes...in 97 revlon gave away little lipstick samples...nice..since then, nada

>>> Max Factor...in 97 or 98 they gave away foundation samples..since then..nada

>>> Dr Scholls>> NO freebies from them...that link has been posted umpteen zillion times..they dont even send ya counpons...ugh

<<< Junk freebies like the free pamplers/hugges...use your head..this is a site set up to collect email addys....Pampers and Huggies are competitors..

<<< Mary Kaye so called freebies...they are not real freebies..they give your info to a local mk rep..who will bug ya to hold a party...most of these gals do not have the $$ to give out free samples...if you read the fine print it is at the "reps discretion" blah blah..which means if you host a mk party you get a sample..

>>> Most all of the "loving hands at home" samples...candles, incense etc ...from homestead, geocities, angelfire free webspace sites ain't gonna come..
there are just toooo many freebie seekers ....these small places cant handle the requests and usually just disappear

>>> MOST business freebies...especially IT tech freebies, professional freebies etc..
nowadays these sites have wised up...they do check, call..
YES....we used to get "lucky" but lately this is not the case..
some small biz sites will send a freebie if you have a home biz, or pretend to...but as for the PRO or IT sites?? forget it

>>>any major company that has the nerve to post a freebie like dodge did...for the first 50 people??? oh puhleeze LOL...even the first "500" is pretty much a waste of time..
Lately when I see a totally stupid and misleading freebie like this, I write an email to the company letting them know I will never buy their product since they are taking advantage of freebie seekers and think we are dumb

>>> any freebie from another country..unless it clearly marked "international"....
think about it...do the math...think of the shipping costs...
they aint gonna send it LOL...why waste your time???

and on the subject of time wastes....when old freebies or NO show freebies are posted...
and people who KNOW the freebie is a know show etc...and post it...please believe us ok?? It is not a "put down" of the OP...it is just to let others know not to waste their time..
posting "the form went thru"...or "I will keep my fingers crossed"...just gives "false hope" to others and makes them waste their time....
it is a viscious cycle..
in a month or two we will see the same people posting a big "Freebies stink" post..
ie..."I have sent off for so much stuff and didn't get it...freebies stink" etc etc

well...the reason they think freebies stink is cause they have wasted so much time on stinkers like the above NO shows/scams/dead deals etc...
It gets discouraging....
YES there are still some decent freebies out there....get in early, get in fast..and get the freebies...use a form filler...make sure you "qualify" for the freebie...use a different aol email addy *not hotmai...just for ordering freebies...don't drive yourself nutz trying to keep elaborate charts and lists *I have seen many get discouraged cause keeping too many records is confusing and boring....do keep all printouts of reciepts and keep all
info on bargains, stuff you BUY...but forget keeping free sample lists...just not worth it JMO

Avoid the known bad freebies...and when people post a freebie is bad, think about it..
we have no reason to "make it up".,,,it no doubt is bad...and a waste of time...

Get in on freebies fast and dont waste time on known baddies HTH

Mmmm. . .

Some good advice, and some common sense statements . . .however, I have received both a Revlon full-size sample, and a Max Factor full-size sample in the the last year. I use the Max Factor lipfinity lip color all the time, and I'll probably buy it when it's used up. Also the Revlon skinlights face illuminator is great! I got it by doing a "log in and sign-up at a certain time on a certain day" but I have NEVER gotten through on a "call a 800 number at a certain time on a certain day".

I think the best advice is to: sign-up for what you can, when you can, don't waste too much time, and if it actually comes, then be happy!

I agree..all good advice suzy. You have to use your head on this stuff. One thing I personally won't do is fill out forms specified to certain professionals where they ask you for info about your job for a tshirt or mug in return. My husband owns one of these companies, and it's a huge expense to send out these freebies. If the info they get is valid, it's worth it, but PLEASE don't take advantage of the small businessman! BTW...has anyone EVER gotton anything from Redbook? I've filled out MANY of their forms, received NADA

Yep! Just when I had given up on them, within the last 3 weeks I rec'd the "Moms in Music" CD posted in January and Neutrogena
Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream - 2 little tubes. Both were pretty nice for freebies.

Nah just enjoy yourself.

I come here because it is fun to look at all these freebies and I just relax and enjoy myself here. Every week I get a few special items in the mail and I enjoy it.

Generally I just fill out for things I would like. The latest really good free was a Compac Golf Shirt and the BSquare.com tool kit.

Very well put.

I too have gotten many freebies...I also get them from Revlon, Max Factor etc...

On the subject of Allure and Neutrogena and the problems with calling in etc..I sent them a email..I was using another "Freebie Forum" and it posted that the site was opening "early"...I got a "apology" from the site and was told that I would get the product, full size in 6-8 weeks. That was not quite a month ago and I am still waiting. In the past when I have written, called or emailed the various companies with complaints they have always been cordial and the product has come. (I am posting this so that others are aware that sometimes, especially the bigger corporations, do try to fullfill their obligations and most have done it in a timely manner)

I agree that the smaller companies or home owned companies do not have the supply to take care of all the "freebie forum users" that are out there...I also believe that there are companies out there that just want our ph.#'s and addy's for the purpose of inudating us with with junk email (snail mail)...I am going through that right now both with email and junk mail. I have a rule of thumb now..I only go after the "freebies" that I really want..I don't go after them just to "get them"...

I agree-very well put.
One tip I picked up at another forum is to never click on the link given in a post. The companies can often tell if you are coming from a freebie forum and ignore your request. Instead cut and paste the link into another window and continue from there.

I think it is just a hit or miss kind of thing...I think some companies just choose who they want to send to and who they don't or maybe it is just a luck of draw. I guess I'm just not a lucky one!!

Wink

I use the Zen approach to freebies:

If I get them, I get them.
If I don't, so what?!?

"Beggars" can't be "choosers."

great tip Magnif! Adding my 02 worth: there's no such thing as a "free lunch" -- chances are they want you to look at their site, get your info, inundate you with junk mail or get you hooked on their product -- it's tit for tat

I did the WD-40 promo and received the radio but it was 10 referrals who had to sign-up in order to qualify. Sounds like they changed the promo..
