McDonald's Contest

I may be stupid but I didn't understand this contest McDonald's is conducting this weekend to make up for the scam on the Monopoly games.

I thought they would have instant win cards for free food or money/prizes. One promotion we won $40 in instant cash so I thought they would offer really cool food/cash/merchandise prizes with better odds with no purchase necessary.

Well, I went to MCD's today for lunch and I asked the drive in cashier if I got a ticket- she calls a manager over and he explains that they randomly picked 55 stores Nationwide that they will show up in a van and pick a winner. 5 winners will get $1mil and 50 will get $100K. What a joke! There are easily 300+ stores in Atlanta alone- what are your odds of winning this? Plus it's 4 days that you hang out at a McDonald's and hope to win. There are 55 stores easy in the 4 counties near my house. And how in the world do they walk into a store and decide a winner?

I told the manager that I didn't understand their commercials or the contest and they would easily make $10 million on people going to McD's hoping to win something this weekend. I would love to see what their odds are of winning when you consider how many stores they have in the US and the chances of being in the right place at the right time.

And after the scam- which I know technically wasn't their fault- with this contest... how can they prove that 55 people actually won? I would have rather seen them give smaller prizes than this "lottery" that they did. I am disappointed.

If a DODer wins- I will be happy but I still don't think it makes up for people- including people on DOD asking for Monopoly wins- believing this was an actual contest with real winners.

Just my 2 cents but I was mad- I never eat out for lunch anymore and I would have rather had Chick Fil-A but thought I could maybe win at McDonald's.

You're not stupid.... It's a bigtime scam to cover up the scam they already ran... Lets just picture 20 cars of people waiting for this "awesome lottery" to happen.... Gee, some of them might get hungry and wander into the store to buy greaseballs.... That's thier whole angle... if one in ten people fall for the scam, they will make back thier advertizing and be the good guy again...

I vote for Wendy's... No contests or bull****, just FRESH FAST FOOD... If you eat fast food....

Ya, and they played those dang commercials about how they were "making it up to us" every five minutes for two days!!! I purposely DID NOT go because I had heard there were only 55 prizes!!! It would have been much better if they gave each person some free fries or dessert or something on one day then this stupid contest!

I went through TWO McDonalds yesterday..... what the heck happend to the twist cones????? I had a CRAVING! All they have is vanilla now????????


Oh by the way.... I got really excited when I saw a van..unfortunately they were contractors working on the building lol.
