Cool Cookout Tips please?

Ok My neighborhood decided it would be great to have an end of summer neighborhood cookout. Lucky me got elected to be in charge LOL
Was wondering if you all could give me some ideas what to serve for snacks and desserts.
For the meal we will have the basic grill food....burgers, hot dogs, etc...
Prolly some corn on the cob...
I'm at a loss ... I am used to grilling out on our balcony for my dh and children, that's it.
any creative ideas, basic ideas and all suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks

Teah

Teah.................Dessert..........Love what my SIL does. She cuts up a watermelon and puts all different kinds of fruit back in the watermelon shell. Cantaloupe, grapes, cherries, blueberries.etc.
Strawberries with toppings on the side.....whipped cream, chocolate dip, etc..........Yummy!!

Snacks..veggies and dip.....Sorry not very creative........just a plain and simple gal here!!

cata5 is welcome here
It kind of sounds like you're making everything...??? Why not have a pot luck and assign categories? The easier the better...

Bars are great for large gatherings. Simple, too.

I noticed at our block party the most sought after foods were the basic baked beans, pasta salads that had easily recognizable ingredients, bars especially those special K bars with chocolate frosting, and a fruit bowl. All other "fancier" foods were skipped over by the majority of the people. Must be alot of picky eaters in my neighborhood!
