the shy guy that just looked like a lost puppy needing some loving. Not full of himself, dressed nice, clean shaven and sweet. If they gave me a line it usually turned me off. (You should hear some I have been given .)Except for: Can I buy you a drink?

Hey ,Blue, where are you using these lines? Start looking for a nice girl away from "hot" spots(bars). How about the library, grocery store,well....you know. And in that case your line could be...I've read that book...I thought it was really good...OR "Do you know how to cook a roast?".... ( I'm sure you can come up with less corny and whatever fits your lifestyle.)

I met my dh in a bar. Been married 18 years. He dosnt drink but maybe 2 beers a month if that. So what the heck was wrong with that? ![]() btw, I think I'm pretty nice.

AndersonGal- I spent alot of time in bars too when I was single. I just think it's hard to meet a nice person there because of the noise, drunk people, and people who are trying to be someone else to get a girl/guy. No offense. I was making a general statement and I'm sure there are many, many exceptions. ![]() Blue, my daughter who is not old enough to date yet, suggests going to Kiwibox.com where apparently you can find a ton of pick up lines such as this one:"Do you have a quarter?"(Blue) "yes" (girl) "My mom told me to call her when I met the girl of my dreams!" (Blue) ![]() When at kiwibox.com click on Postboards. Then click on Other and it's under pick-up lines. |

Well, I've never known any pick up lines that actually worked on me, but I sure can tell you one NOT to use. "Do you come with that order?". Uh... NO! Geez. I wanted to smack the heck out of that guy (took A LOT of self control not to). Out of all of them, this is the one that annoyed me most. Then there was the one when some guy tried "I think I'm in Luuuve". Ugh! Puke! Puke! I smartly commented back "Really? I am too, but not with you!" He looked like a shocked and hurt animal and just walked away. I'll tell you, all pick up lines were a serious turn off for me. A normal conversation worked better. Of course, you would have had to see me on a regular basis for that to work too. Oh Andy, you've definately got something there about the wedding ring. I think they attact people to you somehow. When I was going through my divorce from my first husband, I of course took my wedding ring off. I got hit on a lot at work, so I decided to try wearing it just to deter these guys. Hah! Instead of detering them, it made more hit on me! Argh!! Needless to say, I quickly took the ring back off. Just WHAT is it about wedding rings that attracts guys/girls to you? |

I was walking by this guy in a bar once and as I walked past him, he caught my eye and asked "Met any normal people lately?" I quickly responded "There is no such thing as normal!" He had hit on something that fascinates me, psychology. You are taught that there is no "normal" behavior, per se. He fascinated me because it was an interesting question. I fascinated him because he loved my comeback. Unfortunately, this was my first husband who was an abusive jerk. Bill didn't use a line on me, i just saw him with his kids and his dog. I figured any man who could love and treat children and animals the way he did, had to be a **** of a guy. I was right. So the nice guy does win. Oh, and maybe if you are just "trying to pick up chicks" it shows!
