Cindy,

I have a friend who had a little boy 3 months after I had Alli. There were 3 of us pregnant at the same time.

Anyway, when her son was 4 months old he had a virus that attacked his heart. Long story very short, he had a heart transplant at age 9 mos. Wouldn't have lived without it. He's now 5 (will be 6/17) and doing great.

She didn't want to do the transplant route originally, but then the Lord reminded her that he heals in many ways. It's a very personal decision, though, just like donating organs.

Oh, I am so glad he is doing good now! What a hard thing for such a small one to go thru...bless his heart.
I will consider a transplant as a last resort. I do believe God does heal with transplants, I didnt at first...but many wonderful people have shown me that God does work in mysterious ways.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you! Whatever insight or wisdom I have is not from me, but from God. It has been hard-won...my whole life has been a lesson in survival. I just look at this illness as one more thing I can beat!! I have conquered most of the lousy things in my life so far, and with God, I can do them all!!
My brother visited me in the hospital, he is Christian too...he said...Cindy, you are such a different person now since you have gotten sick, surely God wants to use you for a purpose. Yes, I agree...if only to tell others to appreciate life, to let them know worrying is optional and not needed, to lean on God with all you have, to smile when it makes no sense....so much more I have learned...

I am glad I could touch you with my words, it means a lot to me!

~Cindy~

Cindy,

I feel like such a snoop. Reading these posts. I should be ashamed of myself. Anyway, I just can't stop thinking about what you are going through. I read where your son is also having trouble with depression. I feel for you both.

About your son and school, is he on an IEP or 504 plan? If he is, the school should be accommodating him. One of the accommodations for individuals being treated for this is accommodating them for lost time from school and providing tutors to help. Also, an accommodation is reduced school load. Sometimes kids have difficulty not because they can not learn but because they can not keep up with all the busy work that is laid on them. I believe that depression would qualify as other health impaired and since it is affecting his education, I would think that he could get the help he needs.

Anyway, it is just a thought.

And about you, if there is anything I can do to help you and your son, please let me know. I can't get you off my mind. I am praying for you.

One more thing, what is a care card?

Thank you so much, you are so very kind!!

The school said his depression was just a cop-out...an excuse for not coming to school...they were very rude about all of it...I guess some people think depression is not a real illness...but it most definitely is.
He will go to night classes from Aug to Jan then if he does well....he will be put in 9th grade in Jan...that is the best deal they could offer me. I am praying he can advance to 9th in Jan...this just breaks my heart.

Thank you for your prayers!!! They do work!!! I am going to post a new thread now....I have some good news to share!!!!

God Bless you for your concern and care, it means more than I can say.

Oh, I forgot to answer your question about CareCards...

CareCards is just a thing I do...I take requests for anyone who needs cheered up or is sick or anyone who could use a few smiles!!
I have them sent to me and then package them up all together and send them as one care package! I LOVE doing this!!! I am stuck at home but still can do something to make someone smile!!!

I post the requests with the info you need to send the cards...and I set up an email for requests...

carecards@hotmail.com

You can always email me from here as well or send a private message. I keep the recipients name and address confidential and only use their first name in the request.
