Disney stores are closing!!!!

I went into the disney store in my house, and I saw 30 to 60 percent off. I thought maybe it was a huge sale. I asked the sales woman and she said tons of disney stores are closing nation wide, the store near me will close in a month, so go check the stores near you maybe you can find some really good bargains.

Yes, this is true. They have already let some people go that work at the Disney headquarters in Burbank, CA associated with the Disney Stores. How sad, first Warner Bros. now Disney!

It's kinda of scary all these stores closing, the stores near me closing are super crown book store( nation wide)

When did they decide to do this?! It's the first I've heard of it. Now I gotta keep an eye out on WB and Disney at the local mall.

Wow! Hadn't heard this yet! Does anyone know of a list of those that are closing? There's quite a few around here so maybe I'll get on the phone tomorrow!

Guess I will have to stop by the mall before I go home. There's Office Depot, Natural Wonders, Waccamaw going out of business around where I live. I hate to see what's going to go next.

Well, for those interested, I called two of the stores near me and neither person knew anything about any store closings so maybe it is just a select few. I called Westminster and Costa Mesa, Calif.

Not for nothing, but, when some of these stores opened (Disney in particular) it was kind of a treat, sort of
"wow Look at that! Its Disney!!" And now, after like 10 years, the "wow" has sort of worn off... the novelty is gone. I doubt they get the same business that they used to. Its not like they were competitively priced or sold a variety like a dept store. And, when ppl cut back on spending, frivolity is the first to go.

It really doesn't surprise me. After all, the absolute last place I'd shop for a gift would be the Disney store.

I haven't heard that either! I know I like to look in our Disney store, but that's about it, I think the prices are outrageous and the clothing really isn't made any better than what I can buy elsewhere.

Am I the only one that thinks the Disney stores are just so pricey that this was bound to happen. Not many people can afford to dress their children in Disney clothes, unless you have only one child. I do feel bad for the people that are losing their jobs though. Stores are closing all over the place where I live. We are very limited now as to where we can shop. I am doing more and more online shopping because of it.

When the Disney stores first opened, you couldn't really find clothes with Disney characters on them anywhere else. Now you can get those anywhere like Walmart and K-Mart so I'm sure that has contributed to their closing as well! I do like getting the videos there, tho, because you get the Lithographs for free each time if you pre-order them.

They are just closing some stores, they over saturated the market with too many stores..I am not surprised at all by this move. There are plenty of Disney junkies (my DH for one) who will pay in a minute for something they likes...problem we see now is it is too geared for babies only, we are fortunate to have a gallery store near us so at least he can get his sculptures & collectables there, but clothes for older kids or adults are far & few between.
