Who Wants to be a Co-Host? Kelly Ripa!

Regis finally has a permanent co-host. Today it was officially announced that Kelly Ripa (Haley from All My Children) will start next Monday. Kelly will continue working on AMC as well. Her second child is due in about 4 months. Whew!

I always enjoyed the show when she co-hosted, and was not at all surprised that she was selected. She and Regis have a chemistry together; the only other person who would have worked as well was Joy Philbin.

Best wishes to Kelly! Hope you can endure the intense media scrutiny that's sure to come...

Wow, I hadn't heard about that. As an avid All My Children watcher, I am not too thrilled about this. I like her character, and she probably will not be able to keep up the pressure of two schedules like this. With the storyline right now, though, it looks like Haley will either be in jail or in a mental institution for a while, so maybe they are working around her now. We'll see.
