| DialFree (No Bar) This isn't really free (they charge $10 to setup and $19.95/month) but they promise to reimburse the $19.95 for filling out one survey a month. FreeWWWeb (No Bar) A free Internet provider without an ad-bar, I'm unsure how FreeWWWeb pays for its Internet access but a lot of people say it's very good! IFreedom (No Bar) IFreedom sort of doesn't have a bar, but they have a banner that pops up three times an hour and you have to click on it to continue. NoCharge (No Bar) No banners, don't know exactly what pays for it, in WA and some parts of OR only now! =( WorldSpy (No Bar) The largest free Internet provider without an ad bar, WorldSpy pays for their access by tracking what websites you go to (anonymously). AltaVista (Bar) Free Internet access from the largest search engine. The bar has lots of customizable features. Excite FreeWorld (Bar) Another free Internet provider run by Excite, it's a bar that's relatively small. Freei (Bar) An independent free dial-up provider that started in Seattle and grew nation-wide. Juno (Bar) Juno, a large AOL-ish Internet provider has jumped into the free Internet game; they have a bar but supposedly good service. NetZero (Bar) One of the oldest Free Internet providers, it has a somewhat small floating bar. TheSimpsons (Bar) Free Internet access from The Simpsons! The ad bar has a Simpsons theme (but also advertisements). VirginConnect (Bar) This isn't really completely "free", but they send you a nifty computer (like iOpener) which is sort of like a flat screen laptop computer, and you get a free year of internet access through it if you use it at least 10 hours a month, and $50 for two more years, and that's it! They have ads on the screen, like pay-to-surf programs, but hey, it's sorta free! It's small and "attractive" looking, and looks kinda cool . Note that if you want to quit and/or don't use 10 hours/month, they'll cancel your membership and you'll be charged $200-$500 (depending on when you cancel). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHO KNOWS??
