bring back the Daily Winner

You know, ever since you moved the Daily Winner off of the main page I haven't felt very motivated to check out the main page. I think I'm going to go back to just bookmarking the forum. At least until something new gets added to the main page that draws me back. ;)

Hi Kelly,

I understand what you are saying, but if the 12-20 deals we add to the main page aren't enough to draw you back, I'm not sure what would! The main page has become too cluttered, but we are trying to figure out a way to include the daily winner in a way that consumes less space. In the meantime, don't pass up the awesome deals, and don't miss it if you are the winner for the day!

I view it as a good sign that all our lives are going well, when we find something like this to complain about. All I can say is "Keep up the good work, Mayor. But remember, even when you do your best, you will never please 100% of us/lol."

I have to admit I feel a little lost with the new format. I do try to check the daily winner each day but i get so interested in the deals that i sometimes forget to click the extra tab.

I love this board and bought many things at great prices for the holidays this year, actually bought too many things with all these great deals {VBG}

Oh yeah, without a doubt this site is the best place around for deal seekers! But I use these boards a lot more than the main page. Though I do like reading the news updates every couple days to see what companies are closing down. (Although f****dcomapany.com has larger quantity of listings, dealofday.com has more quality listings). Keep up the good work.

I scoured the messages and can't see anyone attacking anyone else. Are you reading the same board as the rest of us? Anyway.. people are people. You get this same stuff anywhere you go, online or offline!

you should also restrict the Daily Winner contest to users who have visited dealofday within the last month (or week). Lots of people probably register and disappear a month later. Though I don't know why they wouldn't keep coming back, I bet they're are lots of non-users registered.

The Daily Winner is an incentive to register, right? It should be displayed clearly for anyone who reaches the home page. If I were unfamiliar with DOD, it would never cross my mind to click the tab for the daily winner. And, I haven't been checking it out as much since it is set up on the tab now. Human nature, I suppose.

I like kpickells idea to have daily winner be someone who visits the site on a regular basis and I too would like to see daily winner posted on main page as I often forget to check it now that you have to. Deal of Day is great though and I know all the changes will only make it better.

Actually, the daily winner is an incentive to come back AFTER you have registered! But, I agree.. we need to get it back on the main page. And we shall.

I also like the idea of drawing the names from those who have visited the site within the past 7 days. If we can make it work, we will.
