Mystery Shopper - legitimate?

I recieved a letter today sating i was accepted into to the Mystery Shopper Program, I got 3 documents:

1. Telling me what I have to do and a list of expences,
2. A secret shopper acceptance form I have to fill out and fax in,
3. An evaluation form for the business i will be going to.

And this one a check for $3,980.00. It says to deposit it upon recieving it...

The check looks legit, and there is nothing in the letter about paying a fee.
the money is for ALL expences. I googled the bank named on the check its legit. And I get $270 as payment out of the money. They gave me names and phone number fax numbers and ID numbers.
The place is in NorthBrook Illinois. But heres something funny on the check in the top left corner it says in bold letters "Pro Pak Inc. Professional Packers"

Now my question is , is this Legitament? Has anyone heard or done this before?

Mystery Shopping is legit however that sounds fishy I would check into it very carefully before doing any thing.

This is indeed a scam. I contacted Pro-Pak Professional Packers Inc and they are aware, and confirmed it is a scam.
They requested that I report it to my local police also. I have not done that as of yet (I received it today)
As always, if it seems to good to be true then most likely it is...

haven't tried this mate. in my email i always receive about things of mystery shopper but never tried. it went to my spam box so i dun really consider it legit.

thanks for the heads up some programs are legit but i have never seen them pay that much

I get alot of emails concerning Mystery Shopping, I don't pay much attention to them because it sounds to good to be true.
