As you all know there seems to be a war going on in the freebie forum!!
I feel like it is my fault, all I did was post a free offer for a christian book or tape and started a war!!!
should I delete the post or what??
I really believed the meanness has gotten out of hand!!!!

OMG...I was just coming here to start a topic on this very thing.
Mods and Mayor...is there any way to put a stop to this? I really don't understand why some ppl. can't choose to ignore an offer and move on.
I don't think it's right for someone to post an offer and have a couple of ppl. right there for the attack..I truly believe this all they're waiting on..I have not however gone back to read past posts from one particular poster nor do I want to.
I had no idea what bad things were being said in sweetcindy's post, I decided to go back and do the offers I skipped over previously and it had been closed..I was shocked to say the least when I read those replies.
I think also we have made quite a few friendships here and we tend to jump in when a "friend" is being attacked, which is sooo understandable, yet it seems to fuel the fire.
This should NOT be allowed to continue..isn't this harassment??

I was just beginning to wonder if it was just me that was VERY disturb by those 2 people replying in such a nasty manner!! It really upsets me to see people treat others so callously.
And you are right repling to them fuels the fire!!
But when someone I like is attacked I can hardly help myself, I have to defend them!!! Sweetcindy does not deserve this treatment.
And you are also right they are just waiting to attack someone, now they are not limiting there bitterness to religous post, I just read a new post where they are degrading a non-"religous" post by someone!!!
I really think something need to be done to put a stop to this harrassment!!!!

Seems to me this is not the forum for that kind of hostility and anger. Can't they find chat rooms for that? I just want to find the deals and freebies and hear what all you NICE DODers find, too.

I believe that people should just sign up for the freebies they want and ignore or skip over the others. Neither Bill nor I partake of any Christian offers but then we would not choose any satanic ones either! lol In other words, we all have our own beliefs and should save discussions of them for places other than freebie boards. If you don't want one, don't do it! Whether it is the adult products posts, Christian categories, or whatever it may be. Far too often on other boards I have seen members jump on a person for smoking, drinking, adult products, religions or lack of, etc. I don't get it. Sigh. I have not yet read the post...i did however see it posted by lina...(hi lina ) and my reasoning is pretty much of yours miriama59...i am not christian, so i just skipped over it and continued on my merry way...what is sooooo hard about that...im sorry to say that i do believe that i know whom you are all talking about (and like i said i have not yet read that post) and if im right about the person(s) then that is SAD sad to the extent that people are soooooo closed minded that they believe what they believe is true and everyone else is wrong!!! Religious beliefs is such a strong part of our lives and just cause we choose different WE SHOULD NOT BE ATTACKED or reprimanded !!! just my 2 cents

I really appreciate all the support guys! I am mad at myself for letting them get the best of me and even dignifying their comments with a response. It was just so mean, but I should know better than to reply back with any response at all. I didn't post the Christian freebies to start anything at all, I just really enjoy reading so much and especially the Christian literature. I am sure others do as well, so I post them so they can send for them too. There are a lot of things I wouldn't personally want, and I don't click on it, simple as that. I think we all experience stress and problems and it is so easy to take it out on here, where we are under the assumption these people are faceless somehow. Behind every post, every word, is a real person with feelings and I, for one, will do my very best to remember that.

Jeez... I am so sorry I didn't catch that one guys. I have to admit, when I see a Christian oriented post, I don't even check it for inappropriate comments because I figured only those interested would be commenting and that they would be NICE! I will definately be checking them from now on.

P.S. Please, if anyone sees something like this going on again, shoot me an e-mail or ICQ message. Even if I'm not monitoring the boards, I still check in about once an hour on my messages.

I am new to posting here so I had no idea how to handle the situation, then it went on for soooo long I figured I was the only one that was upset by it!!!
Glad to know that type of behavior is not tolerated here,
I was thinking of not coming here anymore, and I would have hated doing that, because in the short time I have been a part of this board I feel like I have made some very nice friends(lisa,debbee, sweetcindy, ect.). Glad to know all the rest of us have respect for others point of view and beliefs!!!
I am a christian, but I try never to push my beliefs onto anyone, that is why I titled my post "CHRISTIAN BOOK OR TAPE" that way non christians or those that are not interested in this type of freebie could just pass it over!!

I had not added a post here earlier but wanted you all to know that I had made a link to this very post in the Moderator's Forum for review. I felt it was important for all Mods to see the feelings coming across the boards here and I wanted to make sure that I was following proper protocol....however, it stands for me too....

I have without a doubt made many many friends (you all know who you are )here on dod...and for that i am gratefull. i have stayed away from certain post (political and religious) on gen. chit chat for one reason.... and that being everyones personal beliefs regarding it...which everyone is entitled to their opinion...unfortunately not many people remember that when they reply...

i believe that the "lackers" and by that i mean the ones that obviously have no respect for anyone else here on the boards and YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE ... one you are too new and unexperienced and insecure in your own life to act the way you are here on dod and in life (yes i know that...im psychic too) to be proclaiming the attitude you are!!!
