Baffled

It was soooo long, then I went and cut it all off! Liked it for a month or so, now I want my long hair back...the worst part is that my hair grows so slowly. My dh thinks it's hilarious, as this isn't the first time! I guess it's a woman thing! Anyway, I am wondering if any there is any way to truly grow my hair out faster!

I started back on the Vitamins and hope they work because although this may sound funny but even my eyelashes have become really thin....
So maybe give the prenatal vitamins a try ...I am on them to and hey if anything maybe I will feel better just from taking them

hmsram...I was going to suggest prenatal Vitamins also!! I had claws when I was pregnant w/ the last one, of course I trimmed the all down when I realized they got in the way of diaper changing. My hair grows extremely slow also, but I always thought it grew faster when I was pregnant and taking the Vits.

Oh yeah, for nails..Gelatin (sp.) capsules (ingested) work also..you find them with the Jello..has a picture of a womans hand on the box

A woman thing...hahahaha.

I'm in the grow out stage too. Everytime I get it a little long, I think it's too much trouble and whack it all off again. Then I regret it and want it long again.

My DH thinks I'm nuts. I think he may be right...lol.

Maybe I should just get a wig. Then I could keep it short, which is wayyy easier to keep, and wear the wig when I get nostalgic for the long hair. Naahhhhh.

Oh yeah, as far as anything to make it grow quicker...I don't know of anything that actually works. I might try the prenate vits though. If nothing else, it'd give the DH a scare when he found them...hahahaha.

Shocked prenatal scare

oh my gosh the prenatal vitamins idea is perfect for me! besides helping my hair grow, it will also totally freak out my husband, considering we had three children between March '96 and Feb '99! Not to mention I had surgery to INSURE that there would be no more! Now if only they weren't so expensive. (I'll have to use one of those awesome drugstore deals) Elf, I'll try the apple cider vinegar too. Imagine the locks I'll have by summer... Thanks for the tips!

Love These things work for me ...

There is no magic formula. It will do what it does, and some hairstlyist believe everyone has a certain long length the hair will grow to and no more. Sort of, programmed. I found that to be untrue. To begin with, I have blonde hair that is past my braline, going towards my waist in about 6 more months. Here are some tips and also things that work for me:
- The summer months you'll see much faster growth. Growth seems to be slower in winter. Sort of a dormant state.
- Sweat makes the hair grow - work out more.
- No matter what, get a 'healthcut' (a teeny bit) cut off at the very least every 2 months. Monitor amount to be no more than slicing off split ends.
- Do not comb and brush hair excessively. The less you do, the better it will grow.
- Do massage the scalp.
- Anything that brings blood to the scalp, will increase growth, but on average the hair grows about 1/4" - 1/2" a month.
- Unless it's super cold outside, don't wear hats or caps.
- Wigs or falls are a great idea. But again, don't cover the scalp too often. Once I wore a fall for 6 months while growing out my hair and it was good for my emotional health!
- Wash your hair gently.
- Pray! lol

PRENATAL VITAMINS ARE GREAT....FOR PREGNANT WOMEN, BUT IT'S THE PREGNANCY HORMONES THAT MAKE HAIR AND NAILS GROW...THE WAY THE OLDER GENERATION DO IT IS...AND BY THE WAY THAT'S NOT ME....IS VITAMIN E AND GELATIN TABLETS. SOMETHING IN THIS COMBO...DON'T ASK ME I'M NOT A MD...WORKS FOR THE OLDER GENERATION. MY MOM LOST A LOT OF HAIR AND DID THIS ON THE ADVICE OF MY GRAM AND HER HAIR GREW THICKER AND LONGER AND HER NAILS COULD BE USED AS KNIVES NOW. HOPE IT HELPS. BY THE WAY THE NEXT TIME YOU WANT TO CUT YOUR HAIR,,,WAIT 3 DAYS AND THE URGE WILL PASS!!!!

You can buy pre-natal Vitamins at the store now?!?! 5 Years ago I had to get a script for them.
About the prenatal Vits. doing no good..I have to disagree to an extent..I know they worked for someone, but this someone wanted HIS hair to grow..maybe it's a mix in that combo!! LOL! Really it did tho..I had given him mine right after my second son was born.

Big grin

What's impulsive about waiting 3 days...roflmao.

Sorry. That's how it usually happens, you're right. I'll try to keep my impulsive side quiet and wait the 3 days like you suggested.

Somehow, I don't think it will work for me...hahahaha.
