OK, with congestive heart failure, I have much less energy than I used to, and I was so tired of being tired!! Anyway, since I can't take anything for energy because it would harm my heart, I started taking 3 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar with lunch and dinner. Call me crazy, but I feel better, not so drained all the time! I have some energy back!! I did some research on the web and it does seem that vinegar is safe and works for a lot of things, I know they have vinegar caps if you can't stand the taste of it, but I love it so it is not a problem for me. Besides, the caps are expensive and I can get a lot of daily doses for 50 cents at the store!! LOL Just wanted to post this for anyone that wants to try it, would like to know if it helps others as well. Cindy |

Hey Cindy/ hope you are doing well. I grew up putting vinegar on my vegetables and still do to this day. It's good on green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, and spinach. When my son Will was in France for an exchange student program he had vinegar on all his salads. I save alot of calories with vinegar instead of margarine on those veggies and I am pretty healthy for an old lady of 50. Keep up the vinegar if it gives you more energy. Best wishes. Liz

I got this one from my MIL-the next time you have a sore throat-GARGLE with straight apple cider vinegar twice-spit it out after each time, then one last time and drink it. I personally think the stuff is vile tasting, but I've tried this and it does work. Not to say that it eliminates the sore throat but it does make it stop hurting for awhile so your other meds can go to work at getting rid of the sore throat permenatelly. I also have one of those little books you buy at the checkout about garlic, vinegar and honey and here's some of the ailments it says ACV helps- acne, asthma, colds, heart disease(mainly lowering chlosestrol) it also says to drink a tea made of two teaspoons of honey and two of apple cider vinegar in a glass of reg or decaf tea one or more times daily-it says it will help allergies, baldness, brittle bones and nails, burns(apply to burn), chronic headaches, etc... I don't know if thisworks or not, but it won't hurt to try it, especially if you drink tea anyway-OBVIOUSLY I would do this and take any prescibed meds as well and not in the place of doctors care.Sometimes the old folk remadies do work for minor ailments. Pretty interesting stuff! Laura |

I agree you can't just rely on home remedies, I am just using these natural things in addition to the 14 pills I do take everyday, mainly the Coreg is the one that has been proven to prolong the lives of CHF patients. Ok, I am new at the vinegar, mother is in the GNC brand? That is the stuff that makes vinegar acidic? Is the GNC liquid vinegar or the capsules? Thanks guys! Cindy |
