"ME" time!

I was just curious. How many of you want time to yourself? I mean time to sit with no TV, 'puter', radio, people, etc. Just sit quietly with your thoughts.

IF!, you can do this, how and when do you do it?

Re: "ME" time!

Yes, I need an hour or two a week of quiet, private time to think about things. It's not all that easy to get, with a busy schedule, so I often get it late at night, when the rest of the world is asleep.

Re: "ME" time!

I count my 45 min. (1 way) commute to work as "me" time. It's actually kind of nice.

I agree. I drive just 20 minutes to and from work, but I'd actually rather have the drive time than work closer to home.

Re: "ME" time!

I do when I can but it is pretty difficult. A lot of times I sit in my living room where there's a large bow window and just stare out and think.

Re: "ME" time!

Hi,
Yes, I get my 'me' time, one way or another, usually when I'm making things, I also have time to think and it's also quiet. We all need me time and it's not selfish to want or need it!

Kat

Re: "ME" time!

Very rarely do I have or find "ME" time. In my home is myself, Ivan, my 2 boys (age 11 & 9), my nephew who moved in with us about 2 years ago, my two doggies, my kitty and most recently my brother moved back in. Luckily we have a nice sized home, and they can all go to their rooms and such, but as far as being absolutely alone at home at one given time? has to be about a year ago that I was able to enjoy the alone time when nephew was at work, and Ivan took the boys to a ball game.

My sis claims her alone time is soaking in her bathtub ! She locks the doors and takes a nice long hot bath. I am not big on baths (always take showers) so that wont do me much good.

Re: "ME" time!

My "me time" is for 20 minutes after everyone else is asleep I go sit out on my porch (yes even in the cold) stare off to the night sky and just relax.... untill the baby wakes up or my lil girl decideds she needs to pee or wants a drink or unless my DH comes out and says "are you nuts its cold out here" LOL its worth a shot though.

I agree with the drive to work ones... that used o be my me time untill I became a full time SAHM

Re: "ME" time!

wouldn't this accually classify as "FREE TIME" lol

btw going for drives is a good free time, however, I have worked as a driver in the past 2 years and after a while, once your home for the day, you don't want to go anywhere for the rest of the night. The last thing you want to see is another stop light, another stop sign, etc... its tough to be a driver and once you do it enough, nice long relaxing sceneic drive's no longer are relaxing and quite....

not when you consider that my son is in my lap or I am usually feeding him while online, i hop on and off the pc all day while i am cleaning, doing laundry, chasing the kids, cooking... you get the idea.

if nothing else i'd consider this slacking at work (kinda let checking your email on company time). LOL

No, "free time" is not what I meant. I meant "ME" time. The time you have, if you have it, that you just look inward, and see how things are going. Quiet, no distraction, look inward time. Look/listen to yourself. I guess a better broad term would be....meditation time. Time to deal with your own "soul" problems. Silent time. That's what I meant.
