Insurance Premiums. Twenty five years of premiums paid into autos, boats, homes and aircraft coverage. Not a single claim necessary. Knock on wood; Jump down, turn around and am getting myself a pail of water ...that I'll never have to.

As for Health/Dental/Eye Care Ins. premiums, it goes w/out say, that if you're paying for or have such covered as a career perquisite, preventative care and maintenance are best. Since one cannot prevent unknown health issues, early diagnosis for treatment is always best. If your annual/semi-annual check-ups for these types of care are covered by insurance - schedule those necessary appointments!

Guess I opened myself up for that one, Tony, but that's where I draw the line. Nothing personal.

You asked a question and I gave a relevant answer. It's not what you own, it's who you are. Material things mean squat and sure, I'm fortunate to say that I've never had to make a claim on such (look at all those who have suffered from Katrina's wake and are still fighting their insurance companies, for coverage and have been left, homeless. Scary). Moreover, my point is that it's vital for everyone to take care of their health. If you have health care coverage (and even if you don't), it's important to make a way and the time, for check-ups. You'll thank yourself later, as will your beloveds.

Afterall, what good are any of us, if we're not here to make a difference in others lives?

Re: What is the most expenise thing u ever bought and never used

I bought a software program called DragonNaturally Speaking, it is one of those programs that interprets your voice and types for you, I was going to use it to do dictation tapes, and then the woman I had contracted to do the work for backed out of the deal, it was almost $200.00.

Also I bought a 5 year membership to a gym and used it maybe ten times. I joined on a special offer and did not check into it properly, and regretted it immediately. It was relatively empty when I checked it out, but a new apartment complex, and office complex opened within months of my joining which made it extremly crowded at all hours of the day. Working out for me is not enjoyable so to gear myself up to do it and then have to wait in line for a piece of equipment was just too much, plus it was co-ed which was a big turn off.

I'd also have to say a gym membership. I joined a gym by my work a few years ago. Well needless to say, 30 days after I signed that contract I got transferred to another office about 45 mins away. I was not going to commute that far to use the gym! And they wouldnt let me out of the contract (JERKS!). It made me sick seeing that money come out of my checking account once a month, just going down the drain Good thing I only signed a 1 year contract and not longer.

Oh yeah living alone I throw away ALOT of food each week. Whole loafs of bread and Gallons of Milk I never got a taste for.

And of course I dont even want to think about how many clothes I have in my closet I've never worn that looked really cute on the hanger,
but not on me OR really good on in the store dressing room but
then when I got home it was more like "what was I thinking?"

Lol ok and i guess i'm guilty of a few infomercial Ab Machines!

Re: What is the most expenise thing u ever bought and never used

I would have to say it was our Chevy Geo Tracker Convertible!!! Due to big misundertanding, my hubby thought I wanted it, and he I thought he wanted it, so we ended up spending over $2,000 for the thing. Andy hated it, drove it a few times and then didn't want to keep using it, they are not built for any normal sized people to drive, unless you weight about 120, you cannot comfortably sit in the driver's seat. Then, after that few times of driving it, it started to act up and die and ended up having to stay parked anyway. To get it off the street, Andy had to push it into the driveway, while I steered.

We ended up taking a bad loss on it, selling it for just around $500 to someone who was willing to tow it out of here and wanted to fix it up for one of their grandkids, then when we saw them again, we found out they didn't like it either, and ended up selling it, too!

It was a total waste of money.

Otherwise, it has been mainly smaller things, like the food dehydrator I wanted so badly, spent almost $40 on and then almost never used.

My son has been the worst one for us for this type of thing, he would want such and such for Christmas, we would go crazy to find it for him, then we were lucky if he played with it the day he opened it and he usually never touch it again. We did this with both a Christmas Furby and a GameBoy Advanced.

So now, we just give him money for Christmas and his birthday and we only buy him a few small gifts. Then he can go pick what he wants and if he doesn't like it or play with it, he has no one to complain to, but himself! LOL!

Coffeebeaned, I do know what you mean on that, it does seem such a waste sometimes.
