If you buy wine, go with one that's moderately priced($10-12) would be good. Lots of them out there to choose from. Another suggestion would be some sort of gift basket with food. Since it's next week, you might be able to find some on sale. I'd also follow up with a thank you note about 4 days after the party. Some people might call this sucking up, while others might call it "good manners"

I agree, 10-12 dollars is a sound price to pay for wine. Also, put it in a very pretty bottle cover. Can get those everywhere. Or if you want, Plants are even a good hostess gift. Good luck... [Edited by Margaritaville on 12-23-2000 at 10:22 PM]

Thanks, guys, this does help. I don't ever buy wine or anything like that, so I really have no idea how much a decent bottle costs. After seeing his boss at the company party, he would probably be happy with a bottle of turpentine, but his wife seemed pretty normal, so i figured better safe than sorry!

There's a lot of reasonably priced wines from Chile and Australia, you can buy a quality wine withoug going overboard, put it in a basket with cheese and crackers. Or if its really cold where you live some brandy

| Blueguava, Good Idea! Also, if you go with the basket idea, if the DH's boss enjoys cigars a couple of his favorites might be a good idea (not a whole box, just a couple to show you were thinking of him too). My DH's boss doesn't smoke, but he will light up a cigar on occation.
