Red face

Okay, I don't know if it's the stress of the holidays and all the running around I've been doing, but driving home from work the other night, I found myself in the car, singing along with the radio, at the top of my lungs to I'm so ashamed!) "Total Eclipse of the Heart". All of a sudden, I started thinking, OMG, what if my husband or my friends or someone caught me doing this?? I was so embarrassed and I was by myself!!

This gets me thinking, we all have those songs from the 70's, 80's, whatever, that we secretly like, but would be reluctant to admit it! These are our "guilty pleasures"! That would be one of mine, but I'm sure I can think of some more! So help me out guys and don't let me be humiliated alone, post em here!!

Happy Holidays!!!

Talking

I'll never forget when I was in college and I was driving around town and my best friend saw me driving and was honking at me. Well, I was just belting out some song(during the 80's) and not paying attention to my surroundings. She said that I looked so funny, that ever since then, I make sure that I'm alone when I'm singing in the car. I have noticed others doing it and I just laugh. It usually makes my day seeing someone else look like a fool.

LOL my daughter has a cell phone always with her, well she was driving home and must have hit the speed dial to the house without knowing it. I answer and all i hear is her singing, i mean really belting out along with the radio. LOL my mother and sister were here visiting so of course i put it on speaker phone and we all got to listen. She was mortified when we told her.
I have also gotten phone calls at 2 am where she again hit speed dial while reaching into her purse, nice to be able to be able to hear your child while she is at the local pub with friends, LOL. And again while she was in class at college. I actually sat and listened to the lecture. LOL Moral of the story, put your cell phones on lock. LOL

Tongue *****blush*******

ok my guilty pleasure isn't a song or band from the 80's ok yall are gonna laugh so hard but my guilty pleasure is [bigfont] 'NSYNC and BRITNEY SPEARS [/bigfont]

ROFL yes i must admit i've been caught singing my heart out to "bye, bye, bye" and "oops i did it again" ROFL ROFL ROFL!! and it only happened because once when we went to mcdonald's they didn't have any toys in their happy meals so i told the manager and he turned around and gave us one of those cd's they had when they were selling them and so of course my kids wanted to listen to it so i put it on in the car on the way home....and now they now when it's just mommy and kids we listen to that cd and SING OUR HEARTS OUT lol!!

my friends think it's absolutely hysterical cuz it's so off from what i normally listen to and before i would always joke boy/girl bands and such but now....
LOL @ myself!!!!

nsync & britney

Hey, don't feel bad about that. If you have kids, you have an immediate license to get your groove on to any boy band or teenage girl singing. I hear this stuff so much, I could sing it in my sleep (and sometimes do!)! I must admit, whenever my daughter is in the car, we crank up nsync's first cd and let 'er rip! No shame in that . . . is there?!?

Big grin

I'll begin by apologizing to all of the country music fans....I'm not big on country, but my DH is. I prefer R&R...Aerosmith, Pink Floyd...cuz I'm old!

If I'm in a bad mood, I will put Garth Brooks in and sing at the top of my lungs...Friends in Low Places, Ain't Commin Home (which is probably my favorite.)

And...just to embarrass my daughter, I'll throw in Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and do the head bob ala Wayne's World...ROFLMBO. And wave at people while I'm doing it..hahahaha.

Hardlife-I am the same way!!! I have a 3 yr old that watchs the Disney channel, so I have gotten to know all the new boy/girl bands. Both my son and I know all the words to BBMaks song "Back Here", Destinys Childs "Jumpin", and I love "Genie in a Bottle". I have to admit that the 80's were MY time, high school, college and all that and I still LOVE all 80's music. One of my favs was Men at Work!

I have finally come clean with my fomerly "secret" guilty pleasure RAP/HIP HOP music. My husband noticed how many CD's of this kind I owned and called me on it. Plus one day he got in my car and I still had Dr.Dre in the CD changer.

He tells me there is nothing more pathetic than an over 30 white suburban housewife driving around in a SAAB with "Ain't Nuthin But a G Thang" blaring.
