| If you love your cellphone and like to customize it, you will love this site I found! I was hunting for a software or service that would let me create customized wallpaper for my cellphone from my own digital images, I mean, everyone who knows me already knows that I have to see my baby Zeus (avatar to the left, lol!) everywhere on everything. I tried several downloads and email programs, but they either didn't work at all or weren't compatible with my phone model, a Nokia 6030. (The first model considered for the new candy bar phones!) Anyway, I did a google search and checked out quite a few different sites, not finding what I wanted, then I found a site that said you could either download the software and import the photos if you have a data cable, which I don't, or you could have it sent via an SMS multimedia text message. I selected the SMS option, since we have full web and messaging access unlimited under our new plan. They even send a confirmation code to your phone, that you have to type in at the site, to prevent someone else from trying to send stuff you don't want, or spam to your phone. You get the code as a message and as soon as you type it in, they send a message with a site address that you click and it automatically downloads the image and saves it. Voila, now the ultra cute pic of Zeus snoozing with his head resting on his Ty beanie pig is now my cell phone wallpaper. Best of all, this was a totally free service, you only pay whatever your cell provider charges for text messages and/or web access, so for us, it doesn't add any fees to our bill. Anyway, I will attach my pic of Zues to show you, though I had to crop it a little to fit the phone screen and here is the site address in case anyone else wants to check it out. It isn't often that I come on here and make a post raving about a site, but this one is great. I even send them a thank you message and let them know I would be spreading the word to others, as well as using the service myself again in the future.

Re: If you love your cellphone and like to customize it, you will love this site I found! Well shoot, both replies I got to this post can't use it. That bites. Sorry about that guys. We subscribed to the web since it is a very convenient way to surf, check for important messages or emails, and etc. when I can sit here at the computer. There are some features that I can't access, for instance, my admin panel here, but I can browse the site and log in, so I can check things in mod talk, or see if there is something I need to pop in here to the computer to take care of right away. I can also browse news headlines, which is one of my favorite things to do throughout the day, and with the messaging, I can send a note to Andy any time I want, and he just puts the alert on silent, so the phone only vibrates, that way it doesn't disrupt his classes, but he knows there is a message from me waiting whenever class is over. Funniest thing is, we get the cells, pay for the plan, and the most time we spend on them is talking to each other. LOL! You will see maybe an hour or less a month to call other people, then hundreds of minutes between our two phones. I also found some free games websites if anyone is looking for something like that either, I downloaded a two trivia games last night that I really enjoyed playing.

Re: If you love your cellphone and like to customize it, you will love this site I found! Welcome, glad it worked for you, bet your dream machine is awesome. I had to use the SMS for mine, too, but hey it works. As to that avatar you wanted, sorry I didn't get to hunt for it yet, Andy and I are both sick this week, miraculously, Tom hasn't caught it, though.

Re: If you love your cellphone and like to customize it, you will love this site I found! Yeah, I guess some companies are like that, they won't let you download from any service but their own, basically it means they get more of your money that way, if you want a different ringtone, game, pics, screensavers, or whatever, you have to pay what they want for them. You can't shop around for cheaper or free items. A lot of companies are like that. When we got our first cell from MCI, before their cell service went OOB, they were the same way, plus since the phone was free, you got the cheapest option available. When they went OOB our contact was picked up by AT&T, same deal for a monthly price that kept going up and up, each month, with no warning. Verizon was a little better, but it was hard to find anything compatible with their service, so I have to say that cellular one is the one company we have been happiest with, we also have less dropped calls and less service outages and disruptions.

Re: If you love your cellphone and like to customize it, you will love this site I found! I rarely use my cell phone, that's why I went with Virgin Mobile. I was paying over $40 a month with Cingular and barely using any minutes so I switched. It's more for emergencies than for socializing. ![]()
