I joined up because my cousins are on there, fun way to stay in touch. I started blogging for the heck of it, now I'm finding it to be sort of therapeutic!! At 41 (for another 3 weeks anyhow, LOL) I am trying to get into a healthier state of being ~ I have lost 14 lbs (that shouldn't have been on me in the 1st place) and want to drop another 15 - 20 lbs while firming & toning my changing physique... it's fun to blog about it and go thru all the emotions of losing weight AND all the good/bad stuff that goes on in life, as well as blogging about my bargain hunting forays! So if you're on myspace, stop by & say hi (my links are at the bottom), I'd love to hear from fellow DOD'ers!!!

I've actually been eating healthy for years (having PCOS and intestinal issues) but I finally figured what works for me. Tried Atkins and got to the same weight that I am now, but just plateau'd...twice...and got pregnant twice, LOL! I've upped my vitamin intake, drink two fiber shakes in place of meals, have healthy snacks (all fresh foods), lots of water, then a downsized portion at night. I keep reminding myself to eat slowly & only eat 'till I'm full... one slice of pizza is plenty and it really does fill you up! Now just to commit myself to being faithful to exercise, that's my biggest challenge

It's so true, one slice is plenty. I used to eat like 3 @ a time and still be skinny as a rail. But I decided that's not so good for you, and cut it to 1. Exercise is a drag, I know! Luckily right now I don't have to make time for exercise because my summer job is soooo physically demanding that I'm running around alllll day. And then when I'm done working, I go ride the horse, which can be quite the workout (he's often fiesty!). |

The fiber shakes add about 15g of good carbs a day - plus every snack I eat is good carbs - fresh veggies, fruit, Silk light soymilk (I seem to have dairy issues now too...ugh!) & yogurt (that's a treat, though, very high in sugar), Triscuits etc. What I am happy about though is recognizing my body's signal that I am full without overstuffing myself... like I mentioned pizza is good and one slice really can fill you up if you take the time to eat a bit slower and enjoy - LOL especially since our favorite pizza is called Skippy's Dare - peanut butter, bacon & provolone cheese!! Very guilty pleasure but so good (honestly it is!!) But yes thanx for your concern...fad diet days are long over for me. I am going for my yearly checkup next month so it will be interesting to see how my b/p, cholesterol and all are doing...

Oh gosh, it must be so hard for you! I feel so spoiled that I don't have any complications. As long as I watch it I look fine! (Of course I'm only 15, which helps). I recently figured out I have dairy problems too. It only took me a year to figure that out! lol. I felt so stupid for not realizing the fact that every time I had something with dairy I'd have a stomach ache or get sick. Plus lactose intolerance runs in the family, it should have occured to me sooner! Now I take pills before dairy and most of the time they work. Peanut butter and bacon on pizza? I've never heard of that! lol. I'm a vegetarian... do you think it'd taste good with just the peanut butter? j/k. Good luck @ your next physical! |

i tried a myspace page as public and man oh man the friend requests flew in - but i wouldnt want these friends as they were pretty much adult oreinted sites. imagine all this going to kids who just want to talk with their pals. back to private i went. that is the recommended thing. for parents i suggest you visit: [Only registered and activated users can see links. Hi, Good link, Goofguy, everyone should probably take a look at it. Thanks! I'm not on myspace, I joined gather. Our son's on myspace and lots of his friends, so I thought a different one is probably better? ![]() Kath, PEANUT butter on pizza? Geez! LOL Good luck on your physical, I had mine complete w/all the blood work and I cook very healthy and everything, including cholesterol (mine and Marks) was fine. I too have intestinal problems, have lots that I can no longer eat -- which has actually made me lose weight that I really didn't have to, but I still eat very healthy. Kat

A week or so ago I joined myspace. Mine is so lame because I don't know how to do pictures or any of the other cool things that people have on theirs. My son said he will help me with some kind of a picture but I have to catch him. LOL
