As the World Turns fans, Benjamin Henderickson has died

I can't believe this. They just had the storyline about his adopted daughter Jennifer dying on the air, but he has died in real life at the age of 55. He was such a great actor, and was in many theater productions as well as movies. I don't think I can watch that soap until his last day airs. Such a shock. Don't know what he died of or from.

Update, apparently committed suicide, shot himself in the head. So, so sad.

That is too bad. ATWT is my favorite soap. I was trying to get caught up over the 4th of July holiday. Hal was a great character. He will be missed.

Junior He's 7 years old and spoiled rotten!

He is a doll!!! I spoil my dogs, can't have any cats as DH doesn't like them. I sure do. I had a cat that was over 26 years old and was in Cat Fancy Mag, in 1985. I do love cats, I might sneak one in you never know. I just love your kitty's pic. m.

It has been such a sad week on that show. With Jennifer dying (took about a week for that) and seeing him, knowing he is dead in real life. I just sat here and cried through the whole thing. So sad, when you have seen someone for 20 years nearly everyday.

I try and watch ATWT everyday. I just balled my eyes out yesterday when jennifer died.

I cried too, for like an hour and half. It was even harder because I know that he was now dead. My neighbor came by to get a piece of my cactus and she thought I looked like death!!! My eyes were red, nose was red. Isn't it strange how we grow up with these characters? I did not realize he had been on the show 20 years.

I've been watching As the world turns forever its seems like. My husband was picking on me because I was crying. When Hal hgged dusty I really started crying then because I knew that he was gone...I can't believe that he was on the show for 20yrs either. But you know he must of really loved being on the show for being on there 20 yrs. I kind of wonder what would posses(sp?) him to want to commit sucide. He had everything going for him, he was on the show for 20yrs, I thought that I read that he won a emmy or something of that nature for his role on ATWT.

I know, they said that his mom had recently passed away and he took care of her, then I read another article that said that the death of his mother and the storyline really took its toll on him. I thought it was so sweet how he and Barbara hugged and the real emotion that they all showed. Bob and Kim always are great, but I just cried and cried. He was such a great actor, I have seen him in a few movies and he was great. I hope the show does a nice tribute to him.

I didn't know that he took care of his mom and that she recently passed away. I guess that would take its toll on anyone. I hope that ATWT does a very nice tribute to him, I know that I'll make sure that I watch it this week. I wonder how the show is going to do off w/ his character?
