Question Healthy Breakfast Smoothies?

Ok, As some of you know from a previous post I am battling a weight issue.
I am an undereater and am having trouble losing weight because of this.
I have never been one to eat breakfast (although I have been trying lately).
I lost 3 pounds in the past few weeks and it was a struggle to do it because it's not easy getting myself to eat.
So I was thinking it might be easier to start my day off with a homemade smoothie, maybe I could stomach that... I did tr eating fruits for breakfast and I can handle it sometimes but not always..
So my question is does anyone have a good smoothie recipe that wil give me nutrition, vitamins and the kick I need to get going?
I know you can use yourt, juice, fruits, etc... but I don't want to just throw stuff in the blender and have no useful nutrition.

Re: Healthy Breakfast Smoothies?

Make sure everything you use is nutritious then ! <wink>

Mine are very basic... I start with a protein shake mix, usually vanilla since you can flavor it any way you like. I've been buying Atkins since it averages $1 - $4 on clearance around here. Add some ice... for extra calcium you can add some skim milk, or to cut calories use some light juice beverage like Minute Maid (10 calories per cup) or just use water as directed on the shake's label, then add in about 1/2 cup of fruit - berries are the best because they are high in fiber and very dense with nutrients. You may want to add some sweetener (I use splenda) too, or some sugar free syrups like coffee houses use... blend it all up and enjoy!

The protein will keep you feeling fuller longer as it takes our bodies longer to digest protein.

My personal favorite is mango... some days I am in the mood for mocha so then I use a chocolate protein shake mix and add some instant coffee...YUM!
