3 murder suicides in my town in 3 weeks...very sad

I live in what is considered a fairly small Parish (we do not have counties in Louisiana) And a murder suicide which occured on July 13 marked the third in a three week period where a man had killed his spouse or sig. other then himself.

On July 13 the incident happend in a local burger king. Sadly enough they were the parents of four children. I also know a girl who is married to a brother of the man who killed his wife then himself.

HOUMA -- Five people were killed Wednesday ---- two at a Burger King in Houma and three at a Jefferson siding company -- in two unrelated murder-suicides.



In Jefferson, an unidentified man who had reportedly made several threatening calls to his wife at her workplace walked into the building and opened fire, killing her and a coworker before turning the gun on himself as the SWAT team arrived.



Jefferson Parish Sheriff Harry Lee said a note found at the man's home indicated what his plans were and gave instructions in the event of his death.



In Houma incident, Donald Verdin walked into a Burger King between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. brandishing a handgun, police said.



Verdin ordered all of the customers and employees out of the restaurant and kept his wife, April Verdin, with him. April Verdin worked at the restaurant. Officials said Donald Verdin shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.



Police were called to the scene, Lt. Duane Farmer said, and went inside the restaurant, where they found a man and a woman dead inside the office. Both had been shot.

Very sad that people have to get to that point in life.
And for a man to kill his wife and leave 4 children behind with no parents I beleive is really selfish.
I had only met the girl one time while dropping my friend off at the house several y ears ago.
Still it is a very heart breaking situation.
