Help! I need a gift for a retirement party on Saturday!

My uncle is retiring from dept head of engineering at a fairly large hospital. I need a gift. His interests vary and I would like to get him something he would truly find useful. Financially they are well set and he and my aunt own their own home. He is a big putter and always has a project going. I would have done a Home Depot gc but my other cousins are doing that. Any ideas? Thanks for your help

How about a tree for the yard which could be a reminder of his time at the hospital. It's always fun to see how much it grows each year, and you could have a plaque made denoting the day and who it's from.

That is a really nice idea! Get him GC to a local nursery and with a card tell him your thought. My DH loves a GC to anywhere staples, home depot. My mother's favorite gift card is to Wawa, she loves to run in grab a coffee etc. Get them a gift card to go to dinner. A night out on you grab some movie tickets and a GC to dinner. Hope you find something fun to give!
