What kinds of flowers do you have in your yard?

I have hydrengeas, a couple lilacs, a butterfly bush, bleeding hearts, tons of bedding plants, and tons of roses. We have 5 big flower beds, but we don't really know what we are doing!

Re: What kinds of flowers do you have in your yard?

I have azalea bushes, lilac, snowball bush, flowering holly bushes, butterfly bushes, rhodeodendrums, barberry bush, flowering cherry trees, 3 fountains, enough bedding plants for a few homes, hanging baskets all over, I even hang them in my trees. The one flowerbed in the front is an island type, I have a little bridge going over it with a fountain next to it. It is so much fun to watch the kids play on it. I love to work outside. When i have to water them it takes forever.

WOW! I guess so! How big is your property? I like the bridge idea a lot.

Re: What kinds of flowers do you have in your yard?

We have a large bed of impatiens. Another of begonias. Lots of perennials in one bed. Lots of geraniums in another. Dahlias in among the garden veggies. Gladiolas in between the blueberries.
We have a wonderful irrigation system my hubby took much time to complete.
I have finally finished picking all the blackberries and black raspberries and made lots of jam and jelly.
We also have apple trees (loaded with fruit), peach trees (loaded with fruit), fig trees (loaded with fruit) and a small but productive garden. (cucumbers, squash, green beans, peppers, tomatoes)
We live on less than a third of an acre in a "neighborhood".

Re: What kinds of flowers do you have in your yard?

Flowers now are blooming on my Mexican Bird of Paradise, a few on my Cape Honeysuckle, and a few Oleanders. I have a few flowers on my Giant Barrel Cactus (they bloom and die that night and a few days go by and then more bloom and die that night, etc.) I have a few flowers on my Fishhook Cacti that also bloom as the Giant Barrel.

Re: What kinds of flowers do you have in your yard?

Just some roses. We do have some fruit trees and grape vines and I am looking for a mimosa tree. Where we live was my mom and dads place after my dad died my mom lived here for a long time then moved to a place in town that was geared for older folks like her and sold the place to my sister. My sister and her dh did not need a place in the country with any acreage and they let it really run down then later sold it to me and my dh. When we bought it, it appraised for $600 we tore the house down did some bulldozer work to level it some we live on a hill. Any way while they were living here the mimosa tree died and I would love to have another one sort of in my moms memory because she really loved it and it attracted humming birds she would sit and watch them fly around that tree for hours.

Re: What kinds of flowers do you have in your yard?

My 3 year old DD wanted some flowers, so she picked out a lily plant. It ended up blooming a few days after she and her daddy planted it and the petals fell off. She is so proud she had her own flowers

Re: What kinds of flowers do you have in your yard?

The hubby and I are growing Don Juan and Social Climber roses, they are HUGE, geraniums, gardenias, Begonias, Polka Dot plants, Honeysuckle, a TON of mimosas (they multiply like rabbits), lantana and a few other various other annuals. Oh and our small garden with green peppers and tomatoes. Also our son in cultivating one spectacular herb garden, we are overrun with basil and sage and mint LOL
