anybody been swimming yet this summer?

The rivers and lakes here are too cold except for the most die hards. But the kids have been swimming in our easy set pool. I really love this pool (blow up ring). Anyone else have it?

Re: anybody been swimming yet this summer?

We have been in the pool since the last week in June. We or should I say the boys were in the ocean last week and we all have been in the lake a couple of times. It has been very warm here up until today. My boys are like fish, they love to swim!

Re: anybody been swimming yet this summer?

We have a small (18 ft) above ground. Just right for us and easy to maintain.

Re: anybody been swimming yet this summer?

sounds perfect, how deep is it? Ours isn't very deep, and its 16'. But the kids can swim, so it works perfectly.

Re: anybody been swimming yet this summer?

We have a 18 ft round pool we use pretty regularly. Also we started swimming in May when we went to Disney World and on The Disney Cruise Now that it's finally warmed up here in NY we've been to the beach once or twice...but the ocean is still a bit cool for me.

Re: anybody been swimming yet this summer?

We have an inground pool here at the townhomes and the guy I am dating lives on the St. Croix River so he, essentially, has his own private beach. Needless to say, we've been swimming a REAL LOT!!!!

I also have one of those easy-set pools. It is the 12 ft, 36 inches deep but we didn't set it up this year. I left it at the house with their dad and he didn't get to it so it is still on the tote.........anyone know anybody who wants to buy a used pool?

Re: anybody been swimming yet this summer?

I took the kids to the beach on Wed. They swam, I got in to about my knees and it was too cold for me. I wish our water was warm like Hawaii's water. It takes me forever to get in, even though I know jumping in quickly is so much better. One of the kids we were with got stung by a jellyfish so I'm not sure if my kids will want to go back to the beach again, or just go to the bay. We had an easy set pool in the back yard last year and we were in it all the time. I planted a garden this year so now it won't fit.

Re: anybody been swimming yet this summer?

We have the same easy set type pool, mayfly, and the kids really like it. It's just enough for them to splash around in. Ours is 18' X 30". We had the deeper one, which lasted two years and got a leak. We bought this one two years ago but couldn't even put it out last summer because it didn't even get close to warm enough. We use "homemade" pool chemicals...a mixture of bleach, borax, and baking soda that I found on the internet. I have the little testing strips and I actually get pretty good results from it. I figure on them being basically disposable so I don't worry too much about it. The thing I hate most is getting the cover off. It always has water on top that dumps on my feet LOL.

I would love to have an INDOOR pool that I could use year-round. How's that for practical?

Re: anybody been swimming yet this summer?

I have a 24,000 gallon, 10 ft diving pool. It's huge - and I've been in it a lot both day and night. It's hot in Phoenix... 110º - 115º daytime temps. Of course, it's inground! LOL
