Re: Potty Training

My son Pierson just turned 3 and is curious about the potty but has NO INTEREST using it...He sees me going and knows its purpose but if I try to get him to use it, he freaks out! I have been trying to get him to use it for about 18 months now. Never had this trouble with my two girls... I think I may try the "run around naked outdoors" method this summer to see what transpires with that...

Re: Potty Training

A friend of mine was just telling me about trying to potty train his son. This poor guy his wife died a year ago and he is left to raise his 3 yr old alone. He is trying so hard but he is exhausted. He said his DS is doing great with the peeing part to the point it drives him nuts when they go out, it seems he loves store potties, esp the urinals. And he makes it through the night with out wetting himself. He said the problem he is having is with the pooping he goes in his pants and then tells his dad, "accident"! He said he has tried praise and stickers and is starting to get frustrated. I didn't have this problem with my kids so I really didn't know what to say to him.

bless his heart...prayers for him
my second ds was the same way he would pee fine but woudn't go poopie......ok i may get flamed for this but he may have to spank his bottom and let him know it is wrong. I have done that as well as the stickers,,,,but only give stickers when he uses the potty like for my ds i only gave him a sticker if he went to poopie, if he don't have interest in stickers try hotwheel cars or something and show them to him but say you can't get them till you poopie in the potty, but go for the cheapest he can find bc could run into money. lol but he has to be firm and not give in and give them to him without poopin. i know its hard but he can do it.
