So, anyone here have Credit Card debt?

It seems like we always have a credit card debt. We carry about 500 on it at all times. Even when we pay it off, it goes right back up to that "magic" number. Anyone else have debt?

Re: So, anyone here have Credit Card debt?

Not a dime of credit card debt. Kenny and his first wife had MAJOR CC debt (on top of car payments, etc..). When we got together we said NO CREDIT CARDS...it has been almost 12 years since the words "charge it" have been spoken. I know quite a few people who pay theirs off every month (use it for everything to earn points, then pay it completely off every month) and then there are those we know who can barely make the minimum payment and have enough left over each payday to fill their gas tank(s).

No debt here. We're one of those that use it for everything to get points, ect (like Paula said), then pay it off every month. We're just lucky that we can do that.....

Re: So, anyone here have Credit Card debt?

Thankfully, no credit card debt. We have a Visa card that rewards us with 1% back on our purchases, so we use that card whenever possible (for groceries, tuition, utilities, etc.) and pay it off every month. A pretty painless way to earn $175-$200 each year.

Re: So, anyone here have Credit Card debt?

My only CC is my Amex, so I don't carry a balance. However, I do have an equity loan right now that is growing and growing...lol. It's really dangerous how quickly that line of credit grows. I think it is funny how everytime we get a statement, they send us a few more checks...lol. Like, come one, nudge nudge, spend some more...

We were suppose to use the line of credit to remodel our kitchen, but my dh used it to start a business instead!!! Probably not the best way to start a business, but it really is a relatively small investment so far. I'm getting pretty excited too, because we are just about to get going. Our business is a mobile espresso cafe. We renovated a truck and will serve espresso, cafe latte, cappuccino, ice coffee, etc. I am also going to sell fruit smoothies [strawberry, pina colata and frozen cappuccino] and also chocolate chip cookies.

I'm nervous about all the money that has gone out so far, but pretty pumped about getting it going too. Wish us luck. Our grand opening is going to be at an event in our town, where they shut down the main street and all the local businesses put something on. Like an insurance company in town always runs a bounce house [moon walk] for the kids. Some others do face painting and games for the kids. The local restaurants will have samples of their food, etc. So now we just have to find the right spot to park without upseting some of the other businesses. You know, like Dunkin Donuts...lol. Oh, and of course this event is happening right smack dab in the middle of my vacation!!! We are suppose to head to Cape Cod on Saturday and this event is next Wednesday...LOL!!! Oh well, coming home for one day won't be too bad. Of course my children might not like it...

Oh yeah, the topic was cc debt.....sorry. lol

Re: So, anyone here have Credit Card debt?

Thanks guys. You're are making me a little less nervous about all the debt...lol. I hope everyone in town feels the same way. I know all the cops are happy. My neighbor is a policeman and one night he was going to be working a double shift and he was really tired, so we told him to stop by and we would make him a double espresso. Well, he sure was wide awake when he left our house!!! His wife wasn't too happy, because he couldn't sleep when he got home after his shift...lol.

I just got the smoothie account today and the sales rep came by to show me how to make the drinks. Yummmmm! I'm sure I will be making lots of "samples" for my family... The cookies and oven are suppose to arrive tomorrow and my 6 year old dd cannot wait!!! We are getting chocolate chip and cranberry oatmeal cookies. I know the cranberry oatmeal might sound gross, but they are actually awesome! My dd is only interested in the chocolate chip though. I think I will be blowing through lots of cookies too...lol!

Now, if only the shirts would get back from being embroidered, I'll be pretty much all set. Whew, this has been a hectic week. I cannot wait to lay on the beach. Of course, I'll be thinking about our opening and panicking the whole time. Oh, and my dh still hasn't finished the truck!!!!! Men!!! I've done everything I had to do, but he is still finishing his stuff...lol! We still need to get an inspection sticker and have the board of health guy approve it. Aaaaaaargh, this is just too close for these final details for my liking. I like to have everything done waaaaay in advance, so you have time to fix things if anything goes wrong. My dh....he likes to play it to the last second...LOL!

So, thank you all once again. I really am excited.

Lori

Re: So, anyone here have Credit Card debt?

Yes I have some credit card debt. However the house is all paid for the car is all paid for. I use the card for my store. So in winter when its slow it goes up. In summer when its busy it gets paid off.
That sounds like a wonderful business idea. I am sure it will do well. Yummy.

THAT makes a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE difference! People think we're a little crazy for never having a car payment...like we're silly for keeping the Olds after it was paid off (which we did early). We bought the Jeep outright...I personally never want another car payment...one income and the $357 (or somethin' like that) payment felt like a $1,000 every month..LOL!

Re: So, anyone here have Credit Card debt?

We don't have CC debt but we have some business debt and a mortgage. We are thinking of selling our home, paying off our business debt and having a nice downpayment for building another home.

Re: So, anyone here have Credit Card debt?

Yep, LOTS of it. Unfortunately, when I left my husband I had to use the CC to get by some months and to get myself settled. Now I am on disability and am not getting a full paycheck and am running VERY behind on things so I have been having to use it again. I am hoping to be back at work full time in a few weeks so I can start to catch up (It's gonna take a long time)
