Talk about the heebie jeebies.......
I was laying on the couch this morning watching the movie Arachnophobia. My siamese was laying in my lap and I felt this tickle on my thigh and at first thought it was her tail. Then I leaned up and saw a big black bug crawling on my leg and I jumped up quick and screamed. It was a darn water bug. Gross!!! YUCK!!! What a thing to go thru when your'e watching a movie about spiders. I about had a heart attack. Now I'll be checking the cushions the next time I sit down.

ROFL!!! OH my word! And yucky yucky yucky!!!

My son is a prankster, and one night while my kids were playing cards with their babysitter he told the babysitter there was a big spider by her hand. She laughed and said "nut uhhh" Then looked................ it was huge!! She screamed and grabbed a cushy throw pillow off the couch and beat the spider to death with it-lol. The kids still laugh about that to this day. UUGGGHHH! Its just wrong when bugs get into the house.

My 10 yr old DD hates spiders. One day, she took a sundress out of her closet, held it up for me, and said..."Mom, can I wear this today?"
Little did she know, there was a huge wolf spider on it....so I said..."Hmmm...let me see that a sec honey..." took the dress, walked out the front door, shook the spider off, returned and told her "yeps, you can wear this dress today!"
I told her about the spider later, and we still laugh about it today....

She also came running out of the bathromm one day, screaming, "Spider in the sink, spider in the sink!!!"

GRR I hate spiders and bugs. I really don't like spiders and kill them any chance I get. Of course maybe because I was bite by a black widow. So I have a vendetta about it.

I'm lucky, as I'm not frightened by spiders or bugs. But I probably should be, as I was bitten by a poisonous spider (the brown recluse?) and had a sore on my arm that just wouldn't heal. If finally turned black (the sore, not my arm!), so I tried cleaning it up myself and putting anti-biotic on it. It healed up fine after that, with just a tiny scar.

But a black-widow spider bite! I hear those are awful! I want to know more about those, and what you should do (other than run as fast as you can to the doctor).

We were at a campground and they had those cement tables and awnings. Well we were laying on the table and benchs. I said oh my arm really hurts. Then by the time I got home that night My whole arm and shoulders were in such pain. Mom took me to emergancy room. They did a blood sample or screen and said I had been bitten my black widow. The venom spreads throughout your whole body alot into your lymph nodes. I was not given anti venom at that time they said it could also kill you. So I suffered it out I can't remeber 2 weeks of my life. Basically they have you literaly sweat it out. We were living in Oklahoma at the time in summer. They wrapped me in a sheet then plastic wrap and a blanket and doped me up on pain killers. I lived.

Wow I thought the brown recluse was worse then the black widow. DH was bitten by a black widow once but the doc said he was lucky because it was a male not sure how he knew hubby and I were both still pretty young at the time so I didn't pay a lot of attention.
