| Although I no longer have a pet I know many of you do, and there are times when you need an answer. What if your pet is sick and it seems simple but you don't have the answer. Maybe someone here can help. Is your pet unruly or have a nasty habit you'd like to break? Maybe someone here can help. Give it a try and see how it goes. ![]()

| Re: PET QUESTIONS - Find an answer Fleas can be a huge nightmare. I tried but found there is no easy way out. You have to treat your yard, inside carpeting/furniture and the pets. Years ago I moved into a home where the yard was infested. Within a month the house, kids, and pets were infested. The neighbor where i thought the problem was truly coming from refused to do anything. (so at midnight in the dark i went out and sprayed her yard too!) My one dog was allergic to the bites and developed HUGE blisters all over her. The only way I was able to get it undercontrol is spending an entire weekend working on the problem. EVERYONE in the house had to chip in. Go and buy flea powder, and then buy the carpet steamer shampoo that has the flea kill in it and also buy the yard spray. Spray the yard, steamclean everything, furniture carpeting..etc. You have to use the cleaner with the flea kill in it. If the fleas are in the kids rooms you have to vac all their stuffed animals and bedding. then what I did at night i sprinkled flea powder under the cushions on the furniture and covered them with sheets. Also sprinkle powder on the pets beds. Then I shampoo'ed the animals...spread a huge white sheet on the floor (so you can hopefully catch any escapees) and combed the animals clean. Then get rid of your vacuum bag. I found that fleas were surviving in there. Spend the next week keeping an eye on the animals, combing them daily. You can get this under control it just takes work. If you really don't want to do all this work, I have never done it but I guess you could call an exterminator and take the pets to the groomer to be dipped. It is exhausting but I have been flea free for 15 years, but that first summer I thought I would go nuts.
