Fraudulent Email Warning for Paypal Users!

This just happened to me today!

I received an email today from paypal saying they had randomly picked my account for an audit and I needed to verify all my information. It said if I didn't respond, then I would be in violation of the TOS and it could result in the cancellation of my account.

I was tipped off though, because it did not come to my primary paypal email, instead it was sent to a spam email. I immediately looked at the headers and realized it was also not sent from paypal at all.

You can report these by forwarding the email to [Only registered and activated users can see links. Either login above or Register Now]

I immediately forwarded it to them and just got a response back:

Dear ,

Thank you for contacting PayPal.

can confirm that the email you received was not sent to you by PayPal.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us again.

Sincerely,

I know I am not the only one on here who uses paypal, so I wanted to alert everyone that these are going around again. If you receive one, please report it immediately and then delete it. Do not respond.

Paypal email also always comes addressed to you, not your email username or anything else.
