| I haven't said anything on here before but my husband has been overseas in S.Korea for (gasp) almost 3 years now. And on July 2nd he is coming home for GOOD!!! He has been home to visit, but it just isn't the same. You get so used to doing things on your own time, your own way and lets not mention how quiet it is when I sleep and I am not sure if I will be able to share the remote, HAHAH!!. I am anxious and excited and the days now seem to be dragging and the more I look around the house the more dirt i see. LOL Can't wait he said when he came home for good I could finally get the kitchen redone!!! ![]()

| Re: 15 days and counting, DH coming home!!! OMG Jaxxie...THREE YEARS!! I can only imagine what you must be feeling. I'm already bad about having certain things done "my way"...yipes..LOL! I'm sure you'll both have a lot of adjusting, but at least you'll be there for each other.

| Re: 15 days and counting, DH coming home!!! Actually I feel like I just saw him, he was here for Easter. lol! But with it being a 15 hour or more flight, trips home were not that often. Nowadays with the internet and instant messenger this time apart has been..a blessing and a curse. Years ago he would go out on the carrier ships and we would get letters home basically saying "I am somewhere in the Pacific or we just crossed the equator." He wouldn't come home for 10 mos sometimes. When he would hit a port we would get a phone call. So exciting back then. When something happened or broke at home you dealt with it the best you could, and cried alot. But now since he was land bound I chatted with him almost everyday via instant messenger. And I guess he figured from halfway round the world he could dicatate to me how to run the house, the business, the kids. That didn't sit too well with me and after one too many complaints about how I do the books (which I absolutely hate to do) I packed them all up and shipped them to him, HAHAHAHA!!!. On a trip home he brought them back with him and hasn't complained to me once since. ROFL!! The nice part of the internet is it is cheap and it was nice to have a second set of ears when I needed them. And yes I am very self reliant, my sister calls me the "husband" of the neighborhood, I know where all the shut off valves are, how to light the heaters, fix the snowblowers...etc. And many of them come to me to borrow things and ask for help. The only thing I will not do is electrical wiring. DH wasn't suppose to come home until September...so this is a bonus! And as for the kitchen that will take months of bartering with him on cabinets, flooring etc. He can be so dang picky. The good part I already have all new appliances so all i need are the cabinets and the flooring. ![]()

| Re: 15 days and counting, DH coming home!!! Jaxxie-that is so awesome I am really excited for you. When my DH was deployed, I learned so much about myself and how to manage on my own. Reading your post brought back a lot of memories. I agree that access to the internet and IM can be a blessing and a curse!! It was really hard to adjust when he came back. But he was only gone for about a year...not 3, LOL!! I can't wait to see your new kitchen...make sure to post pics when you're done.

| Re: 15 days and counting, DH coming home!!! Well as a military wife, I am so used to DH not being home, even when he retired he got recalled and sent all over the globe. It is such a strange feeling when they finally come home. I hope your DH is home for good. Your situation would make a wonderful book!!! I am so happy for you. ![]() |

| Re: 15 days and counting, DH coming home!!! I have 2 more nights of being a bed hog. I can't decide if I am nervous or excited, I should be nervous when he sees how messy the garage is he is gonna blow his lid. LOLOL! I would clean it up but it has been so humid and hot outside I can't breathe. I have about 60 more hours to go.
